    Hunting & Fishing thermal underwear

+1 capilene +1 merino don't like polypropylene. both make good base layers for elk hunting in sub zero weather. Nice to come home to a wall tent with a stove burning mountain mahogany, can dry out and change. I keep both and alternate every day. Don't know why, but it works.

Inexpensive Bullet For 30-06 Deer and Elk hunting?

inexpensive is subjective. If it's cheap and doesn't work, what good is it. 180 gr Nosler Partitions are tried and true, have been for many years. There are a lot of other great bullets out there, but that is what I use. As an aside two deer this weekend with discontinued speer spbt, cheap...

    Fed up with stuck cases

slightly off topic, but why are some of you using lube on pistol cases? Not carbide dies, or some unusual bottleneck pistol round?

    Where do I retire ???

Eastern Oregon gets cold in the winter, but it is fantastic here all the same. If you drive up to Bend look me up, I am a couple hours south and you almost have to come through Klamath Falls. Good hunting, fishing, skiing, hiking, shooting (you get the idea), and East of the Cascades things...

anybody seen any good deals on a piston driven 330 B/O upper?

My ffl has a couple of aero prec. uppers earmarked for me, seems like my next snap together project should be a dedicated quiet gun with some knock down. Don't know much about them except that is what I want, any info provided would be welcome. Thanks............... (plinking, hunting...

Target rounds not good for protection?

I like the hornady critical defense for my home pistol (I like to think I will be situationally aware, my wife, daughter and I have a plan, but still, don't want to shoot them through somebody and then a wall), if for some reason i can't get to the shotguns, #4's will do just fine, although I...

long-term attic storage of rifles, shotguns?

climate controlled, well oiled, dessicant etc. otherwise: temperature changes will result in condensation, moisture issues. Attics and crawlspace are notorious for collecting moisture. There are many codes in the building industry to help alleviate those conditions, (mostly involving square...

    chimney cap question

tapcon blue screws are a very effective masonry fastener and will work fine in brick or cmu. If drilling into cmu turn the hammer off on your roto hammer or masonry drill as you may blow out a lot of the inside of the block. If you have two flues coming through one chimney, you should have a...
