Night Vision Considering ditching PVS30 for a MK3 60mm or Halo LR

I'm not sure if the Mk3 can handle either 338LM or 50BMG. Lol. I typically run it on either my 5.56 DM setup or LMT MWS 6.5CM/308 setup. Just depends on what's on the agenda. I'd still recommend the Mk3 60mm if going the thermal route.

    barrel length questions

Not sure if this is still something you are following but I ended up with an 18" Ballistic Advantage 1:7 twist barrel on my 224V. I mainly run suppressed so overall length was my biggest consideration. I reload so I am able to get 2750 out of my 18" barrel running 82gr Berger's. On a recent...

    1st Tripod Setup

Aside from the paint job, hook at the bottom and the spiked feet the PIG tripod and the Slik 700DX sure do look alike. Lol

6mm creedmoor and 224 Valkyrie loads with shooter world powder

Johnny's reloading bench YT channel did some testing on Shooters World powders with 223. Video was informative enough for me to give it a try with 224V. I reviewed Shooters World loading data and ordered some Long Rifle and Precision powder to try out. Match powder didn't have data for...

    1st Tripod Setup

I'm not ready to spend $800-$1000 on a tripod. Might want to disclose that with the recommendation. Lol

Night Vision Considering ditching PVS30 for a MK3 60mm or Halo LR

Have you ever used a Simrad K203? Just wondering how it compared to a pvs30? The image quality on the K203 was much better then by buddies PVS 10.

Night Vision Considering ditching PVS30 for a MK3 60mm or Halo LR

I definitely hear you. I've accumulated quite a bit of gear I'll prob never end up using. Lol. The Mk3 is great especially since it is 2.5x from the start. Identifying the difference between a bedded dear or calf and the round back of a hog in high grass is much easier. Still has issues...

    1st Tripod Setup

If you are looking for something that won't break the bank, I picked up a Slik 700DX as a first tripod system. I have a manfroto 322RC2 Grip to run my spotting scope or a pig saddle to shoot off of. The system is light enough that it won't break your back. I do have to add some weight to the...

Night Vision Considering ditching PVS30 for a MK3 60mm or Halo LR

Currently run a Mk3 60mm and a Simrad K203. Definitely prefer the capability of thermal to just NV but it is more challenging to judge distance with the Mk3 depending on how far you are engaging. I am mostly going for hogs and coyotes. I'll sometime just spot with thermal and engage with...

CZ455 DIP spring vs. Yo-Dave spring

Thanks for the input! Ended up going with the DIP 455 deluxe spring kit. Cost was only $16 and you get 4 trigger springs and the extra power firing pin spring. Granted you will only use one trigger spring but it's nice to be able to feel the difference between them to tailor your rifle to you...

CZ455 DIP spring vs. Yo-Dave spring

Greetings Hiders, Just picked up a CZ455 Tacticool as a trainer. In the process of upgrading. Searched but couldn't find any comparison of anyone using a DIP trigger spring kit vs. the more commonly used Yo-Dave. Just seeing if anyone had any input...

Night Vision FLIR T75 Advanced Combat Thermal Sight-Long Range Has Finally Arrived!

Thanks for the advice! Unfortunately I'm thinking the best I might be able to get based on cost will probably be a Flir T60 or T65. Any opinion on how those will do behind an acog or possibly a higher magnified scope?

Night Vision FLIR T75 Advanced Combat Thermal Sight-Long Range Has Finally Arrived!

Skypup Those are some sweet toys and some nice pork! So how does the long range T75 do with unmagnified optics? Are you able to use it as a stand alone device also? I've read the LCD screen image can be small on clip on models like that requiring a magnified optic to really use them...

Night Vision FLIR T75 Advanced Combat Thermal Sight-Long Range Has Finally Arrived!

Hey all, I am in the market for a clip on thermal that will give me the best bang for the buck. Initially I was researching the T60 but after reading through some of the comments my choice is still open. Mostly night ferrel hog hunting down here in TX also will be the primary application. We...
