It's really hard to beat the vectors and the 901 combo for a target card in a NRL style match. The connection is solid and you'll have the card on your wrist. For PRS, I just use these to verify and spot. I don't even bother connecting to kestrel. Even though you could quickly fill out the...

It's been a while since I read their patent, but I believe it was about pointing the binos into the wind direction and clicking one button to capture wind direction. Kestrel did that first, but if the patent only pertains to binos/optics you should still have a workaround by manually entering...

I've found that only half the chicken dance needs to be done 99% of the time.

They seriously need to correct this. Hopefully it's just a firmware update. Can't see why not. Every single AB device has this feature, Garmin took quite a while to get it right on the 901, but it's finally there. And it's not only multiple target engagements. I'd like to have a wind direction...

Each target has to be manual, which sucks if you are using these as a stand alone solver. The binos by themselves only calculate wind relative to DOF. If you're using with a kestrel or garmin device, it will use true wind direction, but don't use the vector's target card feature (there's a...

    6mm ARC vs 6mm Max

He was talking about the 80 grain bullets, not the heavies.

Just pointing out that you may need to accept that when in auto, also the focus knob seems to be about the same on every unit I've seen, which matches what you described.

    6mm max

oh wow... You're not gonna speed up too much. maybe 30-50 FPS. I'm not sure why they don't have CFE listed on their load data with the 90 grain bullets, but it's the way to go if you're looking for any kind of speed. TAC hit pressure in the low 2700's for me.

If you had them on auto brightness and had them in a quickly changing light condition (inside, next to windows, lights etc.) they will flicker a little.

What length? I'm running their 18". Play around with the 90-95's with around 30-30.5 grains of CFE223. I'm in almost single digit ES and 2850 FPS.

Garmin Foretrex 901 and the system

Latest in binos with a reticle?

The Vectronics Radical X comes in 8x and 10x. If you add the range enhancers, the 10x will become 14x. The glass is great in the Vectors so I'd assume it's the same in the radicals.

Mine is the Saturn/Liberty barrel from BC Precision Ballistics, not SOLGW. I'm planning on putting together an SBR with one of the SOLGW 12.5", waiting until the 30 round mags become available.

    NX8 or Mk5? or?

Yes, i can't tell you exactly why though. I've never put much time behind it. But most of the PRS shooters that use mk5's prefer the 5-25.

    NX8 or Mk5? or?

The MK5 5-25 with a PR-2 reticle would be the best choice of the two for your use. NF ATACR would be a good choice if you want to go with NF. Also take a look at the Vortex Gen 3 Razor. Very good glass for the price and you should be able to get a pretty good military discount through Vortex.

Precision Rifle Gear Just getting started, looking for gear advice.

In order of importance: 1. Good suppressor cover. You won't be able to see very well once the can heats up after a couple of shots. Armageddon gear, Cole Tac and Burn Proof Gear are some of my favorites. 2. Ballistic Computer. Apps such as Geoballistics, 4DOF and AB Quantum are great and will...

You use them like you would a wind rose. While looking at target, put in the wind direction and speed. Wind is relative to DOF in the binos. So if you turn to engage another target in a different direction, you must adjust wind direction. If you connect your kestrel, then you can use true wind...

That's happened to me once. Lately it hasn't been giving me those problems. I usually can just do half of the chicken dance and they'll be calibrated again.
