    Huber Concepts trigger

I installed a Huber two stage last night on my 6.5Creedmore Surgeon. I waited almost four weeks for the unit to arrive from Huber. I haven't shot it yet, by the dry fire is sweet. When I ordered the thing from John, I had a great conversation-- which is something you won't get from Midway...

$5k for a new bolt gun

Yep, you're possibly right about all of that. Frankenrifle...not my thing. But still, IF I wanted another .308 that would be the gun. I guess it boils down to being able to afford something I've always wanted to try-- a TacOps (and, without the wait and for many reasons)

$5k for a new bolt gun

I have both Surgeons (2) and AIs (2). That said, if I wanted another .308 I'd be all over the TacOps Echo in the FS section... http://www.snipershide.com/shooting/firearms-sale/232193-tac-ops-echo-51-a.html I have no relationship with the seller-- just think that's what I'd do if I was in your...

    1941 Model 70 value?

You did well, congrats! One redeeming feature (and there might be others) that may/ might make his worth more than your $875 / "1/2 that in my area" is that it's a target barrel (without the barrel band) in a 'non-target' stock. If that's were truly case (and not a sporter inlet to accommodate...

AI AW vs 700 style actions ...which fails more?

Ex-XCR owner... Neither of my AI's did this ten shots new out of the box... using FGMM. Quit Remington for good. I do have two Surgeon built Surgeons -- but they aren't your Mama's Remmy by any stretch.

    1941 Model 70 value?

Transition safety, re-barrel, polished bolt, drilled rear receiver bridge (defects)... $1200-$1500 on an average day to an informed buyer.

Gunsmithing Torque spec for FTE Brake

Or, you could Google 'screw torque chart' and end up with this... Federal Screw Products - Torque Chart Or, you can do it the hillbilly way-- tighten until it turns freely and then back it of a quarter turn!

New AI rifles...what do you think...will they set a new trend, follow some others???

As another PSR owner... not really, for several reasons. Just doing some 'napkin math' as follows. First, I just bought a cut to 'my length' (20") D. Tooley made, Bartlein barrel in 6.5CM with a AAC/Titan QD brake from Mile High ~1300$ delivered. Using that as a barrel price reference, And...

    Maggie’s Motivational Pic Thread v2.0 - - New Rules - See Post #1

If that is your kid-- kudos... I find nothing inspirational or motivational in the tripe being peddled by a pampered and lucky child. The entire education system is flawed, but I am glad a lucky few are able to find a path in the smoke.

    Gunsmithing machinist handbook questions

I don't have the latest version (it's about v29 or so)... But I am sure the much later versions contain lots of reference info relative to the 'modern environment' (complex cutter forms, coatings, material specific kinds of stuff that started with the common advent of carbide tools in the 70's...

    16" 300 Win Mag - interesting article

About 10 years ago I read a several similar articles that talked about similar results. Happily shooting shorter barreled rifles ever since. Personally I like 20" for everything up to (below) the family of the "long action" calibers...

    new aiae owner, dumb question.

+ 1 on all of that, although I have a AW-- can't imagine it's any different. By the vy, all I shoot through my AI's is FGMM... Always had exceptional luck making quarter sized groups at 200 meters.

    Surgeon build

That was my exact experience. Talked to Wade about a 6.5CM to tote in the combine for coyotes and such... 20" barrel and a M40 stock, 3 weeks later it was at the FFL. Great guys, can't say too much good about them or the product. Congrats L&P on a good choice.
