    ATACR is always going to have magnification at 1x. It's not true unity if you want your higher mag to be decent.

    Really, I'm just salty about paying $6500 for the privilege of beta testing Safran's kit, at this point. On minute one of ownership, it was clear the item had issues. That was half a year ago. As much as I hate China, at least they know how to make quality thermal.

    Sure, but magnification will allow precision as well as the ability to engage partial targets more effectively, such as a foot, arm, half a face, etc sticking out from behind cover.
