    Night Vision Safran TAD

My RMA. I has it not. Won't that burn a tube?

Vortex 1-6x LPVO US Army Rangers Contract kit

FcDMX in this would have been so awesome.

    Night Vision Safran TAD

25!? That's insane. I run mine on 10 on full moon nights, and 4-6 on half or less moon.

    Night Vision Safran TAD

My sources say it's just a quick reprogram, similar to how they work on my car or how I update my PC BIOS. No physical issues are denoted. So basically a reflashing and verify. As you note, defining and correcting the flaws was the time suck.

This wheel squeaked. RMA should be going out this coming week, I was told.

    Night Vision Safran TAD

I've been nothing but pleased with how O1 has handled this. Frustrated ? Sure. But not with their response to the issues at hand.

Vortex 1-6x LPVO US Army Rangers Contract kit

Got me curious, how does this reticle's illumination work, as there is no way for a fiber optic to reach it, as there is not a "post to the edge".

    Night Vision Safran TAD

They have yet to ask for mine to be returned. I need to go be annoying.

    Night Vision Safran TAD

Turn key solution, or literally just a holder?

    Night Vision Safran TAD

It's probably just because I'm more annoying.

    Night Vision Safran TAD

PS. Did the sac lens etc ever come to fruition for this unit?

    Night Vision Safran TAD

Just another update, but here in the next week or two O1 should be requesting my device on an RMA. The software updates have supposedly addressed: 1) Power button failure to activate 2) Stray light pollution when adjusting offset to near distances. 3) Stuck/strobing menu 4) Auto-Cal polluting...

Supposedly this month they will have an update/solution.

    Scope reconditioning

I have an old one. Green illumination? I think 3-15. How good are these? I bought it when I was a teenager. I now use nightforce, kahles, etc but am curious if these were just good for their era, or good in the secret way of the Tasco Super Sniper 10x.

did i made an error while mounting this scope?

I typically hand tighten all screws evenly, as in, just the torx bit in 2 fingers, just until the bolt seats. I will futz with things until equal, as measured by feelers. Once I know the gap, I remove the hardware, apply small amount of loctite 243 (check expiration date first!) to bolt (making...

did i made an error while mounting this scope?

I use feeler gauges, and one of mine has a left to right disparity of 0.004". I am still content with it, as neither ring gap is near "closed". The rest is mostly just OCD.

Lapping Scope rings - I see mostly No but some Yes

When you tighten rings, they compress the tube 0.006-0.012". If something is slightly, ever so slightly off, it literally won't matter, given how minutely off it actually could be, in a modern 1 piece mount. I've used multiple Reptilia, Badger, and nightforce mounts. No scopes I've ever pulled...

    How important is ring torque

It's also under load with two angular surfaces, with energy being spent toward the effort of extraction. This is why screws don't "vibrate tighter". All I know is that I can loosen ring cap screws literally every time with my torque wrench after tightening them using the same torque wrench at...

    How important is ring torque

This has never been my experience. I always need less torque to remove the bolt than when it was torqued. It has literally never been more. Maybe if there are tapered interfaces?

    Leveling my scopes

I just use my cell phone and a levelling app. Accurate to within a tenth of a degree. Plenty fine for my NX8 on an SBR. Take it out of the case, true it to the rail, then put the scope in the rings and the phone on the top turret and true it to what the rail is at and bolt it down with the phone...
