Hey fellas, not exactly a sniper rifle but looking for some M1 Garand help if you have the experience...

I haven't read through all of this, and I will, but have you tried a USGI Enloc? I've got a gazillion of them. I could sell you a fistful at a reasonable amount if you like. Which, really, you should be using anyway.

Have you contacted CMP. After all they are newly constructed rifles with, I would think a warranty.

Shipping a PU Sniper (advice on packing material)

I have a few PU Snipers I will be putting up for sale. It would be more desirable to go with FTF transactions, but I am not averse to shipping interstate with any rules followed. The question is what to do about packing material? I measure the weights and dims to be roughly 49"x9"x4" @ 10lbs. I...

Good Score Sunday (SR90 + ACOG)

Agreed. And good advice about getting in the hands of an experienced shooter. I have previously achieved Cloverleaf groups at 100 with my RPR early this year but I forget what ammo. Some commercial 168 grain Match I believe. I also need to learn the workings of the scope. Beyond zeroing at...

Good Score Sunday (SR90 + ACOG)

Well, you can see how it did on my first outing via the pictures above. Tried some different 175 grain Match last weekend and had similar results. This also has a Lilja barrel. I don't reload and have primarily been a milsurp collector/shooter. I'm thinking of taking the introduction to...

Good Score Sunday (SR90 + ACOG)

Not that I'm there yet but after seeing Threadcutters performance (WOW) here I wonder if I'd think about rebarreling this girl. Suggestions, what to use and who to do it? I'm out of Nashville. I also need to find some details, spec sheet or manual on this old Leopold M14 scope. It's a bit of a...

Good Score Sunday (SR90 + ACOG)

Yeah, I was surprised to notice that reticle moves around quite a bit compared to some more modern scopes.

Yea, the fellow special ordered it from Robar back in the early 2000s. What makes you think I'm "significantly undervaluing" it. Expensive upgrade? Maybe not. I'm used to milsurp. I have complete respect and understanding for what the platform is. Proud to have it. The magazine/magwell...

Good Score Sunday (SR90 + ACOG)

I am not an educated precision rifle shooter. Mainly shooter/collector of 20th century bolt and semi milsurps. These rifles (SR90 & RPR both in .308) far exceed what I can do with most of my semi-autos but some of my scoped Mausers, 03A3 and PUSnipers can get close to what these are doing, if...

Good Score Sunday (SR90 + ACOG)

Whoa ! $399 with a 10rd mag. And spare 10rd mags are $129/ea. Considering the pedigree of the rifle I'm sure this is the way to go. Although I thought I stumbled online onto some plastic affairs for sub $100. Yikes. As I said initially; this world has not been in my wheelhouse. I'm definitely...

Does anyone know about mag conversions for these? Stock magazine is pretty fussy about pulling out and you really got to Ram it up at its nose for it to latch.

Not sure this qualifies as vintage but pretty sure it's configuration is long out of use. A few months ago a guy at our club listed a TA01 for sale @ I think $850 (recently recharged for $260 by Triji). I didn't need one but excellent glass to have as a floater so offered him $600. He declined...

    Vintage Sniper Rifle Picture Thread

Mostly 1944 Izhevsk 1st time Arsenal refurbs. Mint bores, VG+ in breed. I understand these came in back in the early 90s via CAI and far as I can tell none have been taken out and shot. Some still slathered in cosmoline. In fact purged quite a toothpaste squeeze outta some barrels so I...

8mm 1950s Bulgarian Surp – Save For Reloading or Sell?

Well this was interesting. I know little to nothing about reloading. My buddy was able to conjure up 10 rounds for me that we fired at the range today. He noted that the powder contents per round was very inconsistent. Averaged about 42 grains with up to a 2-grain difference between all...

AR10 on .308/NATO Barrel: Length? Fluted vs. Bull?

A buddy of mine is getting ready to put together an AR-10 in the thinking about barrels. Fluted versus bull? Length? Pretty much an all-around range toy. Our range currently goes to 400 but would like to see what he can do to rival the performance of his .308 RPR. Maybe out to 800 or 1,000 one...

8mm 1950s Bulgarian Surp – Save For Reloading or Sell?

Yeah, I found that out the hard way. I just wanted to rip one open and see what was inside.
