1 WEEK LEFT: This Target Haunts Me Contest
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Brand new NGAL A1. It has never even had a battery in it. $5,800 shipped/insured. Method of payment is PP. feel free to text/call at 9196697667 for more info, I will post this to a few other sites as well. Thanks!
Sorry if i missed it in the first post but I haven’t seen it asked yet…. You are adjusting the front/rear sight in the correct directions right??
I will also add that its kinda normal in my experience for some irons to be adjusted rather far one way or the other to get them zeroed. I would say...
Looks like you’re on the way to figuring it out OP. My gunsmith mills the slide so the RMR fits the pocket tight. It almost clicks into place. There are different ways if doing it and some of those ways work well.
The diameter of the screw is too big for the threaded holes in the slide? I always have to dremel down the length of the screws some to get them the perfect length for my setup.
Direct mill is the answer you seek. Leave irons in place(upgrade irons so you can still use through the rds, different heights available)the mill the slide to accommodate your rds and call it a day.
I have been using CDI for a long time now. You could used to send them back in and they would check calibration/adjust if they needed it for free. Idk if that has changed since Snap-on acquired them. I haven’t sent my stuff in several years.
I dont run ASR on my bolt guns(i know you asked about that)but I have a Saker K 556 that i swap between 3 AR’s(2 of those I regularly shoot groups with and longer range stuff). The repeatability of the ASR system has been good for me. I have read all the hate for ASR systems and I have not...
I agree with most of what you’re saying but I disagree with the part about 7.62x51 achieving the same velocities as 30-06. The gap is smaller with factory loaded ammo but it’s not uncommon for 30-06 to be loaded with 15gr-30gr heavier bullets and easily achieve 100fps or more than 7.62x51 or...
Now my serious answer….. a $400 mount is absolutely not necessary. I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for though. If you purchased a $2,000 scope, I wouldn’t buy a $50 ncstar mount or whatever else chinese stuff is out there. Typically your more expensive mounts will offer more options...
I only offered up my take of the Vortex because I do not have experience with the other optics you listed. Plenty of reviews on the options you gave around the site. Do your research here, and get prices from our vendors here, most of them will help you out.
If he plans to compete with it and especially with .223/5.56 out to 600 yards reading wind and using the reticle to determine follow up shots will be a must. With that said, i would only be considering Mil based reticles/turrets.
Not a model you mentioned but I have had good luck with my...
