    Rainier Match versus Ultramatch ?

    It's the quality of the blanks. Not sure if it's still true, but I believe the old ultramatch barrels used Shilen blanks. I've shot the match barrel in 223 wylde and it hovered between around half moa with premium factory ammo. This was also 6yrs ago and it was a build for a friend.

    Thanks for all of the suggestions, I've got some good options. I talked with rooster offline and there is a good option just a few miles from my house that I wasn't even aware of, so I'm going to start there. Once I can get ahold of the rifle next week, I'll start trying to get this set up.

    I'm not really surprised. They haven't haven't done anything to keep up with the current demands and got left behind by all other major riflescope brands. I've never been impressed with any of their optics I've messed with.

    I'm pushing a 120gr Speer Goldot at 2300fps out of my 12.7 with AR-comp. It's a fairly moderate load. I think I'm going to pick up some Starline brass and play around with some powders to see how fast I can push it.

    I feel like I have read about this issue with aero bolts. It was a while back, so I'm not sure...I know that helps a lot ?...did you try the aero bolt and bcg in the lmt to see if the issue followed? Maybe try the lmt bolt in the aero bcg. I would try to narrow it down the the specific part.

    Tbox barrels are typically regarded as one of the best for grendels. I've got a 20" odin that is alright. Just a hair under moa. I have a 12.7 barrel from Atherisrifleco that is extremely accurate.
