    Newbie from North Texas

@Campguy308 I'm about 2hrs north of Texarkana in Mena AR. I'd love to get into a few matches when I can fit it in my schedule. I've never shot a match in my life. Are the matches fairly newbie friendly? Unfortunately I have finals the week of the 7th or I would try and see if I could make it down.

    Larue MBT-2s Trigger

I had a couple of Geissele triggers and need another, but wanted to try something cheaper. Picked up one of these based on raving reviews. It exceeded my expectations. I now have 2 MBT's and need another. I actually prefer the break over my G.

One-piece scope mounts for long-range AR.

I use badger on a couple of rifles. If I was going to stay away from Badger, I'd probably try a Giessele.

    Upper Receiver Lapping

I have in the past. I had an upper reciever that wasn't quite in spec. The feed ramps on the barrel didn't line up with the ones on the upper and used it to even those up. I've used blue loctite to bed the extension to upper. I will say, it's a pain to remove. These days, if the extension is a...

Ruger American Problem and A+ Customer Service

That's good to hear their customer service did you right. It sucks when you receive a defective product and having the company make it right without any hassle can definitely smooth over the initial aggravation. Same type of deal happened to me with Surefire, their customer service was top notch.

Gunsmithing Recommend someone to cut and thread barrel in AR

I gotcha. I've only lived in Mena since 2017. My wife and her whole family is from Polk county. Once I exited the military, we moved from Charleston, SC back to her home town and I'm back in school currently. Small world, for all I know you might know some of them lol

Gunsmithing Recommend someone to cut and thread barrel in AR

@fdkay Yea, I have a set I'm going to do just that once I get it from him next week. According to LRI's website if it's the same contour as what they were describing, I can go up to 20" with 1/2x28 or 18" with 5/8x24. I would prefer to keep it 5/8x24, but to get the length I want, I'm not...

Gunsmithing Recommend someone to cut and thread barrel in AR

@leftyk82 Funny you should mention them, I was actually looking at their website the other day and know they are gtg. I was just a bit confused on their description. I need to email them and ask if their cut and thread option is priced for just the barrel being sent in. It didn't state anything...

Gunsmithing Recommend someone to cut and thread barrel in AR

I will be acquiring my old Winchester M70 in .270win in a few weeks from my stepdad. It's the basic synthetic stock and sporter barrel model. I want to set it up to be more usable with a supressor. I'm wanting to have the barrel cut down and threaded. I realize that I will have to go down to a...
