    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

Figured I would contribute to the thread. This is my 6cm, shooting 115gr DTACs. Bushnell Gen1 XRS in badger mount, Timney drop in, and Sico Omega. It's a blast to shoot, but I haven't had much time this past year which sucks.

@Vidar That is a very interesting and unique design. How is the integrity and strength?

    Suppressors SiCo Omega end cap.

@spife7980 My apologies, I read the first page and skipped to the 3rd to see if they were shipping and then wondered about weights. Thanks for the info!

Rifle Scopes 1-8x24 ok 1-8x28 scope choices

@Voyager1 haha, no worries...I didn't catch it the first time I read your reply, but when I went back and reread, I caught the 2nd focal plane. Yea, personally I wouldn't consider the Accupoint either.

Suppressors Omega length restriction for .270 Win

@BurnOut I will give them a call and see what they say. It was just on my mind and its after hours, so I decided to see if anyone has encountered this specific of a question haha

Suppressors Omega length restriction for .270 Win

I looked around and couldn't find anyone talking about this. I've got an old Winchester M70 that I'm wanting to fix up and put in the hunting rotation. (Restock and barrel chop for supressor) I know the Omega's min barrel length for a 300wm is 20". Does the .270 have less muzzle pressure (not...

    Suppressors SiCo Omega end cap.

I looked for one of these for a while before I ordered a regular one about a year ago. Looks like I will be ordering one. What are approx weight savings between the 2? (Sico vs Ti HB)

Rifle Scopes 1-8x24 ok 1-8x28 scope choices

@Voyager1 That's what I was thinking the difference was. I no doubt agree the vcog would be a much more robust optic that would stand up to some serious abuse. All of the things you mentioned you disliked about the Accupower is why I was interested ?. Its primary use would be for hunting on my...

Lightening a DPMS 300 BlackOut with 16" barrel

I'm just throwing this out there and don't know your state laws, but with a budget of 1k, why not just build a 9" or so pistol? Just the reduced length will knock some weight down, and you can build it with some lighter weight components for even more weight savings.

    6.5CM SBR

I have toyed with this idea for a year now to get a little more energy than my suppressed 12.5 grendel and still be compact. I was under the impression that anything under 18" in 6.5cm was hard to tune due to the increased pressure over 308. It's good to hear several people are running them...

Hunting & Fishing 6.5 Grendel bullet for Deer

I've used the ELD-m and sst to take a handful of deer. Each one had massive internal trauma and left a good blood trail. I haven't hit anything solid like a shoulder, just organs with a rib. This year I decided to try out a bonded bullet and loaded the 120gr Speer Gold dot. It's only moving...

Rifle Scopes 1-8x24 ok 1-8x28 scope choices

@Voyager1 I'm curious about your comment. Why the vcog over the Accupower? Is it simply just more robust?

Rifle Scopes 6.5 Grendel Hunting/SPRish Optic

I've had an LRTSi 4.5-18 on my Grendel for about 1.5yrs. I use it primarily to hunt with and occasionally shooting some steel. To me it is an awesome optic. Glass is very clear, it's not extremely heavy, but not lightweight either. I liked it until I took it hunting for the first time and tested...

Rifle Scopes 1-8x24 ok 1-8x28 scope choices

@sharpdoug What is your take on the reticle thickness? That is about the only real common complaint I see when reading reviews. I have a Bushnell LRTSi that has a fairly thick reticle due to it being illuminated, but it is still very useable for my applications. (Hunting, shooting steel)

Is there a battle proven bolt for 6.5 Grendel?

I'm still using an Odin bolt in my 20" and a house brand bolt from Atherisrifleco that came with my 12.7 barrel. If I ever have one go out, I'll order a JP. From what I've read, it's about the best one out followed by a maxim. As for testing, I haven't heard of one, but if one is found I would...

6.5 Grendel more or less dead?

I've had a 20" grendel for 3 years and have taken several deer with it. I wanted something more compact after receiving my supressor, so I built a 12.7" pistol. It is my go to hunting rig, do it all. I used 123gr sst last year on a doe and it did pretty good. I decided to try out a bonded...

Rifle Scopes 1-8x24 ok 1-8x28 scope choices

About a year ago I was wanting to pick up a 1-8 for a hunting optic for my shorty 65grendel. My budget was to stay around $1k. I had narrowed it down to the Burris XTR2 1-8 and the Trijicon 1-8. I was leaning towards the Trijicon due to having a 28mm objective lens for better light transmission...

Rifle Scopes Bushnell Elite Tactical line - MAP reductions ($1700-$1950 XRS2, $1600 DMR Pro, $1200-1300 DMR2)

I'd be curious is the LE/Mil prices were adjusted too. I know after I purchased a LRTSi a couple years ago, the price a year later was about 200 more.
