1 WEEK LEFT: This Target Haunts Me Contest
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Was just about to send out my B&C medalist stock when I noticed that there was no hole drilled at for the screw towards the back of the trigger guard. The only two holes were for the action. Is it normal to not have this screw hole and is something that needs to be drilled?
I would avoid the Axis. There is no aftermarket support. Parts aren't interchangeable with the other Savage rifles. You can pick up just a Savage action for $300 new from Northland shooters.
Got a call my .308 is shipping. Placed another order and for some 5.56. Does the Hornady OTM come as a box of 50? I just assumed it did but it didn't say.
I am looking for someone to inlet my B&C stock for savage's new bottom metal? I've already contacted CDI and they no longer do this for any bottom metal except their own. Anyone have another source to do it?
I am looking to buy a Karsten cheek peice. I know I want either "B" or "C" due to having a Triad Stock pack that I want to mount. Also switching heights after its set isn't going to happen so I don't think I need "A". I was wondering if anyone has a preference to either the B or C model and why?
Changed mine to a hogue. Much better than the a2 grip. Great system just not for me. On my phone but pics can be found here http://www.snipershide.com/shooting/options-accessories-sale/188061-mcree-precision-fde-folder-savage.html
I have a weaver and like it. For the money it is a great value. The turrets aren't great but manageable. It's a few hundred less than the PST, which I've used and want to pick one up in the future. Have never used so can't comment.
I am pretty new to this too and went sort of all in not know what I wanted. Kind of costly as now I'm selling/sold everything and starting over. I have a much better idea of what I want and my uses. Still learning though. I thought a Chassis system was the way to go because of spending most...
Good to know. Never thought that they were different. But at least now, I know they will work. I may just break down and buy the CDI bottom metal. I would be paying $160 more for the HS precision. So it would only add $100 on to the total price. I really don't know if I need the detachable...
I like the choate for the money. Almost pulled the trigger on buying one then I saw on combatstocks website that they aren't compatable with the new savages. Will give them a call. I do plan on doing the CDI bottom metal just don't need to right now as I found I'm usually just loading one in...
If you do let me know how you went about it. I want to know how to do this type of stuff but have no clue where to start. Like what dremal tools, measuring it, etc. I have a basic idea in my head but have never tried anything like this. Plus I read that is more than just cutting as you have...
If I do that all i need it he mag box and spring correct? I have a 10p right now with the mag release button on the trigger guard. Looked at Choate but I guess the new savages don't work with them. I would be fine with the A2?
I've thought about it. I like to do stuff myself. But honestly have never done anything like that and don't know where to start. Also worried that by doing that I could end up with a $250 paper weight if I mess up.
Thanks for the answers. Was trying to avoid having to buy CDI's bottom metal for now and was looking for it to be inletting for the factory bottom metal. I want to do CDI's eventually but that is later down the road due to money right now. Probably going to go with HS for now.
Looking for a new stock and was looking at the B&C. As far as I know it only comes for a blind magazine. Does anyone know if they do make it for the detachable magazine for Savages?
