Rifle Scopes 300 to 800 yard scopes / experiences / suggestions

Re: 300 to 800 yard scopes / experiences / suggestions I personally think that the top hunting scopes in that price range are Zeiss, Night Force, and Swarovski. I really like the Zeiss Conquest for hunting. They have phenominal glass and are at the lower end of your price range. My opinion...

Rifle Scopes Best spotting scope under $200

Re: Best spotting scope under $200 Just as you paid a lot of money for your gun and scope, you are gonna have to shell out a decent amount of money for good optics. I have had a problem trying to find one that looks good in the store and then looks great outside. I have returned several...

Rifle Scopes Yet another scope opinion thread (please)

Re: Yet another scope opinion thread (please) I think that this scope it going to have a niche, but the reticle looks very busy (could be the picture) when the illumination is on. Too much color in a low light environment sucks! I like the ability to do quick range finding, but this format...

    Rifle Scopes BSA optics?

Re: BSA optics? Absolutely the truth! +1 for the SWFA and the Millet. They are much better than the BSA and for not that much more. Good Luck!

Did I waste money buying 175 smk's for my rifle?

Re: Did I waste money buying 175 smk's for my rifl I like the 175 gn. SMK's. They are good out to 1000 yds and have good knock down power. Also with the lower muzzle velocity, they won't wear your barrel as bad as the higher muzzle velocity and pressures of the much faster rounds. Good Luck

    get set up for reloading

Re: get set up for reloading You are gonna hear both sides of the fence on this. I dont like the digital scales. They are very touchy to air movement, warm up temp/time, static discharge (this is a pain), and even you accidentally breathing on it as you look over the scale at the results...

need help with consistancy or .308

Re: need help with consistancy or .308 I personally dont sort my bullets prior to seating them, but I do measure my brass and make sure that they are all very consistant. After having used the new Redding dies, I will get different seating depths if my brass is not consistant. I only get a...

    get set up for reloading

Re: get set up for reloading Kind of depends on what you are gonna be using it for. I like the single presses the best. I like the precision involved there. The rockchucker is a great press. RCBS is a great product line (except for my Precision MIC I got today and will be sending back)...

Got to see what real over-pressure looks like ...

Re: Got to see what real over-pressure looks like ... Ouch!! The guy said that he made a mistake and he realized the danger of the mistake. Some people are looking to bash people all over the place for not being perfect! Everyone is a student of the science and I dont see a need for...

    RCBS Precision MIC

I just got my new RCBS Precision MIC and I am not very happy with it at all. If you have one, please let me know what I am doing wrong. I have a Savage 10 FCP, which is a tack driving son of a gun. I am going from just measuring OAL to trying to be as precise as I can. I followed the...

    Seating depth?

Re: Seating depth? The o-give width of the bullet should contact the grooves at the same point, in most cases. It shouldn't matter what the weight of the bullet is. You can check them with a guage, but it doesnt matter if more or less of the nose goes into the barrel as long as the width...

Rifle Scopes AR 15 optic on a budget

Re: AR 15 optic on a budget Check out the new Nikon M223. They are designed for the AR-15 platform. They have a scope in the 2x8 magnification range. The duplex reticle would be my personal pick for that scope. They dont have mil or moa turrets, but since the scope is designed around the...

Rifle Scopes Is this scope damaged?

Re: Is this scope damaged? Get a hold of Scott @ Vortex. He and several others from Vortex are on the Hide. I sent Scott a PM last week, and he was very quick to respond and was very willing to help out any way possible. They are a great company and you should enjoy your scope. Good Luck

    Rifle Scopes scope advise

Re: scope advise Look at the Millet. If you didnt have to have more than 14x I would suggest the Nikon buckmaster. You can get the turrets and a mil scope for that price range. Probably a little better scope than Millet. Good Luck

Rifle Scopes Question about Fixed magnification

Re: Question about Fixed magnification I am suprised that Zeiss isnt available in France. If you have considered them, I would consider them again based on the fact that the glass (for under 1000 US) is some of the best you can get your hands on. I know that you are wanting a fixed power...

Rifle Scopes Need some NIKON Dealer Help.....Trying to locate.

Re: Need some NIKON Dealer Help.....Trying to locate. I called and spoke directly to Nikon last week. They are hoping for end of May or the beginning of June, but in all reality it will be the end of June as stated from SWFA. I am supposed to get one to demo for our dept, but I doubt that...

Rifle Scopes looked at Mark4 over weekend, disappointed.

Re: looked at Mark4 over weekend, disappointed. Ouch, it is almost scary to follow up with a comment after hydro556's comment. My .02 is that you are right about the quality of the glass. However, if I didnt have a great scope, I would not hesitate to buy a Leuopold Mark 4. The customer...
