    Re: new 338 lapua what is the barrel twist? My TRG-42 in 338 lapua cant stabilize the 300 grain bergers. That could be why you are getting such lousy groups - are you seeing any key-holing on the target?

    are all 140 grain bullets equal? stupid quest?

    I was wondering lets say I have load data for 140 grain SMKs out of the Sierra manual. Can I use the same load data for 140 grain Lapua bullets? Lapua loading data only gives data for Lapua powders but I have Reloader and others that I would like to use. Thanks in advance!! Paul.

    338 lapua - 1:12 twist

    What are your favorite bullets for a TRG-42 338 Lapua with a 1:12 twist. I was looking at the sierra matchking 250 grain which when I put the stats into Millers formula I get an SG = 1.46 so it seems that these would work. Thanks, Paul.

    How important is metplat trimming/bullet tipping

    I was looking at purchasing the Hoover metplat trimmer and bullet tipping die. I am not a competitive shooter but always looking to do better. I am shooting 22-250, 6.5 x 47 lapua and .338 lapua magnum. Should I "buy and cry" or is it not worth the trouble? thanks!

    I have read Bryan Litz's book and have been calculating SGs and it seems that all the nosler and sierra bullets I have calculated SGs well below 1. Does anyone know a good bullet to use with a barrel with a 1:14 twist? I have a Remy 700VTR in 22-250. Thanks in advance. Paul.

    I searched through the threads and didn't find much about soot. I am shooting 22-250 through a remington vtr - reloaded with H380 powder - light load - was very accurate at 100 yards - sub 1 moa. I did push the necks back a little more than before. The spend brass had soot around the neck...

    Re: Ultra Sonic Cleaners I use Iosso case cleaner in Bodum beakers for 10 minutes then plain water for 10 minutes. Cases come out squeaky clean.

    Re: keyholing problem using light loads? I called Sierra (very helpful) it turns out that the 55 gr Blitzking 1455C cant stabilize in a remington VTR with 1:14 twist - so I am out a bunch of money for the 500 bullets I bought. Maybe an excuse to buy another rifle!!

    annealing brass - is it necessary

    I am shooting 338 lapua and 22-250 - how important is it to anneal the brass? How often do you anneal? Do you get it to a dull cherry red or a bright red? Thanks!!
