1 WEEK LEFT: This Target Haunts Me Contest
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
I have a new batch of Lapua .338 brass - I measured about 10 and found that they were between 330 and 333 grains. Does it make sense to sort the cases? How much accuracy will it add?
Thanks!
Re: Bullet Ogive Measurement - does it matter?
Thanks carter - I read the article on the sinclair blog and bought the comparator as a result. I am a newbie and am looking to get a better understanding of how things work.
Thanks!!
I bought a bullet checker from Sinclair. I am shooting Sierra Gameking .338 215 grain SBT. I measured 10 and averaged them. Most of the bullets were off the average by less than .001 of an inch with one that was .0016 - Is it worth it to measure and sort for .001? How much will it improve my...
I am shooting reloaded full body resized 22-250 and the necks have black soot on them - is this a headspace issue - do I need to just neck resize and not do a full body resize? Does this mean that there is too much room between the neck and the chamber?
thanks!
if you change the eye relief, do you need to start all over sighting in the rifle? I have a TRG 42 with a nightforce scope and need to move the scope more towards the muzzel.
thanks!
I have a Sako TRG-42 in 338 Lapua - I am reloading. Are there any articles on the net which explain how to measure headspace and set up the dies to "bump back the shoulder"?
Any help would be appreciated!
Re: overthinking reloading - bullet weights?
wait a sec - a bullet with a high BC is LESS efficient - why would this be effected less by the wind that a more efficient (lower) BC bullet - I'm a little confused -
Re: overthinking reloading - bullet weights?
im looking at page 77 - "in conclusion, minimum lag time will always be realized by the highest BC (heaviest) bullet available in the caliber"
I am reading Applied Ballistics for Long Range Shooting by Bryan Litz. Just finished chapter 5 on wind deflection. My take away is that you should use the heaviest bullet possible with the lowest ballistic coefficient. This reduces lag time and therefore wind deflection to a minimum. So why...
Re: number of reloads for 338 lapua?
I will be shooting a TRG42 which I guess is easier on the brass than a gas gun. Is anealing important to extending the life of the brass?
