On mine it seems to be related to pressing the center button. If I press right arrow as in the instructions its fine. A single short press of the center button will change the check box, if Im not careful and fully hold down the center button to exit the menu it will change the selection...- point45

The HUD stays on for a minimum of 20sec. I only had the hud on right before I take a shot or think I see something worth shooting at. Theres only two laser modes, and neither one made a difference in the grass. Yes, theres a time out option for the HUD but that wasn't the problem I had. The HUD usually powers on within a second of pressing the lase button, this doesn't change.- point45
