Range Report Took a LR Course and have concerns/questions about Apps

Or screw the calculator and move the target 10 yards one way or the other?

    6.5 Creedmoor

Will this rifle be used primarily for hunting? If so, at what typical distances? For big game at 300 yards or less, an ES of 100 fps might not be significant. At 1000 yards it is definitely a factor.

Maggie’s What are you drinking right now!?

My friend visited some acquaintances in Ireland some years ago who told him that he would feel better in the morning if he washed down the Guinness with some good Irish whiskey... lying bastards? They tried that on me, but I was wise in the ways of the white man.

Strelok Pro does have a way to enter a turret correction

Range Report Took a LR Course and have concerns/questions about Apps

OK, that (122 fps) seems excessive. I have not experienced that. I think Frank indicated in one of his training videos that a typical MV adjustment might be as much as 25 fps. Perhaps others will comment. Did you zero your rifle at 100 yards at the training range, and if so, was it exactly on...

Range Report Took a LR Course and have concerns/questions about Apps

Just a couple of questions: What was your measured MV? Was the 2740 the MV that you used to get the correct poa=poi? Also, did you zero at 100 at the range where you took the training? Just to clarify for you, your actual MV shouldn’t change due to altitude, but your downrange bullet speed will...

Range Report Took a LR Course and have concerns/questions about Apps

Well something doesn’t compute here... no pun intended. I just entered data into Stelock Pro and 4DOF for the Hornady 130 ELD M using the same environmentals and MV. In 4DOF I used their doppler profile and in Strelok I used the G7 BC. At 1200 yards Strelock gave me 30.8 MOA. 4DOF gave me 31.08...

Range Report Took a LR Course and have concerns/questions about Apps

Hi Donho00, You might find the answers you are looking for in the Ballistic Calculators section. You are correct that Hornady 4DOF does not have a facility for turret calibration, a significant oversight in my opinion (which is worth exactly what I charge for it). As has been mentioned in...

What did you do in the reloading room today?

Deprimed, cleaned, sized, neck turned and chamfered 65 once fired lapua cases from Berger loaded 6.5 CM ammo, then cleaned again. Ready to prime, charge and seat now but holding off for the arrival of the v3 autothrow / autotrickler. Still have a few hundred rounds to shoot. Have to pace myself?

    Long range target camera systems

I have the Caldwell, but have only had it out twice. The first time it connected to the iPad without even using the receiving unit out to 800 yards. At 900 and 1000 I needed the receiver. Everything went fine. I didn’t do anything but save images and one short video. Didn’t use the group sizing...

    6.5 Creedmoor

Went to the range today to shoot some factory Berger 130’s in 6.5 CM. Chrono’d with Labradar at 3043 SD 9.6, ES at 40, 20 rounds fired, no pressure signs, but yikes, seems a bit speedy. My handloads with 41.8 gr of RL16 get 2950. 26” Spencer bbl MPA rifle with Curtis Axiom action.

    A-TIP Bullet Lengths

Taking the hint from ormandj, I asked Hornady for the dimensional info I wanted for the 6mm 110 gr projectile. Here it is: length = 1.302 in, bearing surface = 0.366 in. Thanks gentlemen.

    A-TIP Bullet Lengths

OK beat me with a board with a nail in it of this is the wrong forum. I have been searching for specs on bullet length for the new A-TIP bullets from Hornady and can’t find it on their site or on JB. I would like to run some speculative loads in a couple of ballistic solvers that ask for bullet...
