    The Leupold may have slightly better glass, but when you compare the two based on price, what the Vortex is available for compared to an illuminated Mk5... I guess some of it depends on if you want illumination. If so there is a pretty big disparity in price.

    You may try lapping the front face of the receiver and using Loctite to set the barrel. Or at least that would be where I started, try to make use of what you already have.

    I recently ordered a CIP length DBM and both an AR15 and AR10 lapping tool from PTG, had everything within three weeks which I did not think was too bad. My stock is being inletted and DBM being installed by my smith so will know how it all worked out once he is done.

    I may do some more work to the feed ramps once I get home from deployment (whenever that may be now). They are just catching on the sharpish corners of the ramps as they try to chamber. Couldn't hurt to round them a little more and the rounds did seem to work well when they connected.
