I hold the foreend and wrap the sling around my forearm too. I took the brake off as I felt the noise was distracting even with plugs and muffs. My rifle does not seem to like lighter bullets, the 120GMXs did not group well. I have posted it before but here is another pic of my rifle before I...- mike e

I had similar issues when I first got my saum. complete rifle / scope was less than 7lb and no braked (I took it off) Was me. Not used to shooting such a light rifle off a Bipod. Bit of practise and all good now. Mine was build as a lightweight rifle for Alpine Hunting, carried a lot more than...- mike e

Gunsmithing Carbon Wrapped Barrels, More PROOF
Interesting, I have one of the ABS barrels on my 3 Gun AR. Was purchased off ABS themselves in 2006-2007. 16 inch "Rock Creek S/S wrapped and chambered in .223 Wylde) Not sure of the round count now but carbon "Sleeve" has never come loose. Net dumb question. To neck down 300 saum (Norma brass) what bushing(s) do I need, I have Redding Titanium Coated bushing in .293 .294 and .295 currently but i need to order any other sizes from Sinclairs and delivery is 3 weeks and $50USD for freight so I need to get it right first time as that...- mike e

Note sure if this is the best place but I m looking for a starting load for the 6.5SAUM using the following componets Norma Brass (300SAUM necked down), Retmbo (as thats all I currently have) and 140gn Hornady SST projectile, All my loads to date have been with Retumbo and 127-130gn...- mike e

Thanks for that. My rifle has 26inch barrel. Currentl load of 64gn retumbo and 127Gn Barnes LRX chrony'ed at 3310 average and accurate but want to try some 140's too LRXs load is for hunting, now I am looking for a load for general shooting (steel plates and such)- mike e

Anyone using Retumbo with 140gn projectile. Looking for a starting load. currently loading 64gns Retumbo behind 127gn Barnes LRXs but have not tried any heavier bullets yet. Jut been given some 130 and 140 Nosler Accubonds to try :)- mike e

My Brake is removable so I don't totally wreck my (or the dogs) ears when bush stalking Currently shooting 127LRX under a compressed load of 64gn Retumbo. Still doing load delvelopment as the rifle is new. Also will be suppressed eventually- mike e

New GAP Extreme Hunter in 6.5 SAUM
Very Cool, Terminator Products (they use Scott for their gunsmithing) are building me a similar rifle at present and the wait is killing me. 26 in Barrel, Hunters Edge stock. Primary purpose is as a hunting rifle so will not be a heavy weight. Hope mine is as good as yours.- mike e
