2 DAYS LEFT: This Target Haunts Me Contest
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Re: Distinguished Expert
Eley is some good stuff. You can spend over $100 a brick for the higher grade rimfire ammo. Have a friend who had a case of Eley. He ended up giving me 8 bricks of it when he saw me shoot some really small groups with it out of my Remington 40X and Winchester 52D...
Re: Someone help my fear... modding a 40X
The CMP says they will be releasing another, possibly the final, batch of 40X and other rifles soon (sometime this year)......they said there were about 900 Remington 40X rifles.
Re: Vortex Crossfire: Need opinions on setup
Put a Vortex Crossfire on my .308 Win. Remington 700 PSS the other day and under recoil the groups creep upward. I would see the elevation knob move off position after random shots. Emailed SWFA about it and hope to get it exchanged.
Re: Interesting new Eyeglasses for the Military
Looks like the ski goggles with that technology on it go for $250. They reduce the glare 20%. http://www.redferret.net/?p=17339 They also have a lens that sticks on the facemask of any motorcycle helmet that goes for $199.
Re: Remington 700 ejector stuck flush in bolt.
Success!!! Came home this morning thinking I should add some shock force to the bolt to encourage some additional movement on that stuck ejector. I have been soaking it with the copper remover too. I have been using a small phillips...
Re: Remington 700 ejector stuck flush in bolt.
Tried kroil and that didn't seem to help. Have moved on to Hoppes copper cleaner and will give that a few days. I have been plunging it in and out (as little as it moves) with a punch, but still stuck in so far. I suppose sooner or later the...
Had a round that was too hot and got blown primer and the brass flowed into the ejector. Case came out fine but would not eject out of the chamber. I'm guessing some brass shaving must be holding the ejector in somehow. What is the best way to free it up again? I can push it in just enough...
Re: Interest in 40x repeater conversion still.
The CMP is getting VERY close to putting up 900 or so 40X rifles for sale. They mentioned in their forum the sale would take place this year....hopefully it will be soon and the prices haven't been adjusted too high. Get the paperwork in so you...
Re: Single stage press stupid for handgun loads?
I think I reloaded for my pistols for 5 years on a singe stage Lee Challenger press before moving up to a Dillon 550B. So much faster.....have since moved up and away from a couple of 650 presses to a 1050....so much, much faster!!
Re: .45 ACP..need help from ya'll
I have seen the small primers referenced with the non toxic primered lines of ammo....not sure if that is all they are in though.
Re: how are the vortex crossfire 6-24x50 for 99dollars
Got to fire my CMP 40X the past week with the Vortex Crossfire on it. I like it, but the target knobs have a lot of play in them. Still nicer than the Simmons Whitetail Classic that was on it before and it cost the same. Crosshair is a...
Not mine but figured no harm in posting for the guys looking for one who might be in the Port charlotte, Florida area....$650 each and look like they have the 700 action. http://floridaguntrader.com/index.php?a=2&b=60481

Re: vortex crossfire
Just mounted mine and same issue as far as phantom clicks in the up direction. I got 42 clicks from where the reticle movement stops and where the knob stops turning. Haven't shot it yet.
Re: XL650 reloading issues
Could be the brass is military and has crimped primers. You will need to look and separate those and get the crimp out before priming. Probably easier to chuck them if you don't have too many of them in the mix.
Re: Buying from The CMP

Re: Buying from The CMP
This is all I know..... http://www.thecmp.org/forums/showthread.php?t=23710
They have been shutting down the programs that use the .22 rimfire rifles for years now and most have already been turned in given over to the CMP and sold off through them. Small amounts...
