I scaled up a .308 245 to .338 and it came out to 323 grains. I’m guessing it would be close to that same form factor. My guess is the G7 BC would be around .45.
California allows up to .60 caliber, so the 14.5mm would be ok.
What I meant is any .50 caliber round, other than .50 BMG, isn’t regulated. Some people adopted .510 DTC because it’s just a modified .50 BMG but isn’t regulated as .50 BMG.
I always wondered what long range potential this round has. Seems like it would be pretty potent. Quality of brass would be the biggest issue I can think of.
Edit: I was thinking of the 14.5x114mm round. I didn't realize someone was necking it down to 12.7mm.
I picked up a Remington 700 Long Range in .30-06.
Quality brass available
High BC bullets available
Factory barrel stabilizes high BC bullets
Reasonable barrel life
I haven’t pushed it yet. Took it to the range for the first time and had my scope cap come loose. Just ordered 250 cases from...
Has anyone loaded the new 208 or 220 LRHT Bergers? I have a few boxes of the 215 hybrid and 208 A Max I’ve been planning to use. My rifle is a 700 M40 Long Range with the 26” barrel.
Nitriding may build up on the exterior of the surfaces being nitrided. Depending on the application, it may have reduced the chamber and bore diameter enough to cause pressure spikes.
I'm glad you posted this thread. I am a .30-06 shooter and was wanting a factory heavy barrel rifle but when I finally find out there is one, I can't find one because of the recall.
The funny thing is I emailed Remington about a year ago asking if they were going to build a .30-06 with the...
I am not against pushing the envelope with rifles and I am extremely interested in the results and wish you luck. I just hope this doesn't bring the wrong attention when shown at a national level.
Has anyone here shot the 215 Hybrids from a stock Reminton 700 SPS in .30-06? I have a box and was wondering how they would compare to the 208 A-Maxes I have been load developing for.
