Tikka T3x CTR Mag Problem - and not the usual one.

Are you familiar with TRG mag? Slide the follower out the front. You should be able to get it off the spring. The way the follower is pointed up at the front in your pic is how it comes out. Then you will be able to remove flat spring which is the heart of the mag. It will need to bent to...

Looks like you need the bend the flat spring.

Tikka T3x CTR Mag Problem - and not the usual one.

Start with this. The flat spring might need some tweaking but it’s easily done and you’ll get it sorted.

Any more reviews/updates on these? Really want more comparisons with a g2 razor.

What are the essential 700 action mods?

Sounds like it already is a capable and light hunting rifle. 30-06 is one of the best all round hunting cartridges. I’d seriously consider leaving it as is and using it for hunting like grandad did. Would definitely consider buying or building something for long range hunting/target if you...

What are the essential 700 action mods?

In most cases I’d say the best mod is Tikka. But. Given it’s your grandfathers, what caliber and how does it shoot now? What do you want to achieve shooting and hunting wise?

Tikka CTR -- anyone keep the original stock?

Perfect to use. All I did is add a limbsaver which is more comfortable and adds some LOP. A change is only for other stock features. Mine is in a factory stock but I wouldn’t mind a t6a with factory dbm and a nice fat 6.5 barrel (currently oem 20in 308) In no way is a change necessary.

Manners t6a is a brilliant option.

True. The single stage is really good, the 2 stage a1 is just icing on the cake. I prefer the 2 stage but I wouldn’t replace a one stage with one if you already had it on a CTR.

    That’s called a CTR.

KRG Bravo for CTR that can take TRG/CTR mags?

If you have an issue with latch engagement or fitting 10rds in you can take out the little plate in the mag. It isn’t necessary. After which you’ll find it runs and locks in to perfection. For reference I’m talking about the TRG mag that the CTR came with originally. It’s not a mag issue it’s...

Rifle Scopes How Much Scope Do You Really Need?

Better functioning in feel scopes with better glass are more valuable the more time you spend shooting. You appreciate better quality if you use your gear or shoot higher volume than the recreational shooter. Some people shoot an hour once a month, some once a week. Some hunt and shoot daily...

    New Offering vs AI

If you can’t shoot well with an AI you probably can’t shoot well with anything.

Rifle Scopes Anything beat a SWFA 3-15 yet?

I really like the 5-20 HD. It’s built tough. Some points I’d like addressed. Mag ring and parallax way too stiff, add a zero stop. Apart from those small issues they are great! The reticle is good in my opinion.

Would love to build a 300 with that dbm! Another AUS here too.

    Value precision rifle setup

Ctr is more feature rich if your leaving it stock or carrying long distances. In my opinion it’s just enough barrel for 10 shot strings. While it heats quicker than the varmint profile it cools a bit quicker too. A dedicated range gun the varmint, if your upgrading the stock etc is a better option.

    Value precision rifle setup

I can’t rember off hand the difference at the muzzle. I think off memory only Ctr at 20in muzzle is about 19mm and 23.75in varmint around 22mm. The varmint is definitely heavier. The Ctr is slightly more “handy”
