    My 243 doesn't like heavy bullets

    I've had good luck with hornady 87 gr. Vmax, in a 1:10 243 Howa 1500, I have also shot that rifle in a 1000 yd. Match with that bullet and done fairly well(not last place).

    Got the range today with my birthday present to myself, ran 7 different rds through it. With Center X being the best so far. I couldn't seem to get a good sight picture today, it felt like the reticle was moving around inside the scope. But the results are in the pictures below.

    Does the receiver require modification for these barrels or is it threaded as usual and the nut acts as a jam nut basically.

    24 in" bartlein 1-8 twist Armalite AR-10 Remington Brass 4x 5x fired Fed 210 primer 44 gn. H4831SC 2.80 OAL 140 AMAX 2650 fps. Shoots under .75" Going to step to 45 gn and see what I get.

    I have a 300 RUM Rem 700 27" Krieger I have setup for target shooting, as for barrel life I don't know yet I have just over 400 rds through it, I have some remington brass that I have loaded 8 times with no problems, I just anneal it every 2-3 firings. I am shooting the 208 AMAX at around 2900...

    Re: Manual Powder Measures I have the hornady standard powder measure with the micrometer adjustments for rifle, it keeps the loads within +-.2 gr. Not accurate enough for precision rifle, but good for 223 plinking rds.
