    Benchrest 101

Guys, thanks for the responses. The reasons for my wanting to learn the use of the BR tools and techniques has nothing to do with an expectation of competing in any particular venue or sanctioned pursuit. I simply want to understand the technique so that I can better evaluate what I already...

    Benchrest 101

The title pretty much says it all. Bonehead freshman Benchrest for a no-nothing student. For example how to set up your rest on the bench? It would seem that it would be best to have the rest dead square to the target board if using a rear bag and a mechanical rest. Or is close good enough...

    New help choosing sporter/match rifle

T1X with a 16" barrel at 6#s even. Will they let you shoot with a variable with the power set at 6X and taped? A 20" is 6.4#s which wouldn't leave much room to 7.5#s. A new barrel would solve any weight problems if allowed. Let us know what you choose and how it works out?

Does the 7.5# weight limit include scope and rings? What positions are the matches shot from?

    Tikka/Bergara/CZ?

I hope you decide to shoot a 6X5 with your current 1416. A YODAVE $10.00 spring will reportedly get a T1X to 12oz.s. I think where Anschutz is missing out is their mags. Inserting a mag. is just like a Win. Mdl. 52. It's a hunt and peck excercise. The T1X mag. design makes locating the mag...

    Tikka/Bergara/CZ?

T1X is threaded for suppressor and weighs six pounds with 16" barrel and 6.4# with 20" barrel. Overall length with 16" is 33.7". It's pretty light and pretty handy and plenty accurate. How accurate do you want it to be? If you are good with under .5" at 50 yds. its good to go. If you want...

    Help identifying .270 win rifle

I don't think it's a Kimber. The MKII safety is currently sold by Brownell's. There are cautions regarding the older MKII safeties reliability if you do a search. Is the left side of the action thumb slotted? Have you removed the barreled action from the stock. If not, do so and you will...

    Help needed on Proof barrel

That's why I love this place. The depth of knowledge is amazing. Apparently that knowledge is so highly regarded by a major manufacturer that they have a designated individual as the go to for SH related questions. That person would, of course, be the guy who actually knows what he is talking...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Guns and coffee

@azbiker, I've always wondered about the Korth. I've owned a lot of good revolvers to include Mdl. 27-2, 4" and 6" Pythons both seventies vintage, two L frames one of which was highly tuned, etc. etc. What is the allure of the Korth? Is it the trigger, the lock up, the fit and finish, or?

    Remington golden bullet

I bought thousands of rounds of Golden Bullet around 2000. It was $10.00 a box of 525 rounds. It has been run through two Weatherby MKIIs, a Remington 597,a S&W Victory, a handfull of bolt guns, a few revolvers, a S&W M41, a couple of lever guns and a Iver Johnson TP22. Amongst the...

    SIG SAUER P210 TARGET NITRON/WALNUT 9MM 5-INCH

I would be interested if someone could compare the 210 to a higher end 9mm 1911 like Nighthawk or Wilson. A Dan Wesson might be even better as it is closer to the price of the 210.

Informed Opinions - EOTECH Vudu vs NX8 and Others... (help a guy out)

I've enjoyed following this thread particularly the views of @deersniper who has a VUDU and apparently three of the NX8s. The problem is that every decent scope has compromises. If you want a super short there will be compromises. Weight, depth of field, eye relief, image clarity...

    So I need to relocate.

If anyone is interested? We have a small farm NW OR. It is 44 acres +/-. The property has farm, timber and un-useable use designations. The un-useable portion is the Lewis and Clark River which traverses the property on a diagonal so you own over half mile of river frontage. The L&C R. is...
