New rifle, what caliber????
i would also look at ammo thats available to you i got a remington 700 barreled in 250 savage, was my dads back in the day, and great rifle taken a lot of game with it but now i cant find ammo..... store guy told me whats the point in having a bad ass rifle if you cant shoot it .....- colscar

fuzzball nailed it..... i was in your shoes a few months ago and i guess you just have to do it and just get what you can afford and if you need to upgrade you go from there. i read the faq on the manufactuers sites plus some of the stickys here ....- colscar

i guess it really depends on what you want ..... i use lee dies cuz im not shooting past 500 meters and i dont mind lubing my cases. i got the regular pacesetter set, the delux set somes with a full lenght size die and a neck only die but no crip die. so far everything has work great for me and...- colscar

this must been an old question but can you load vlds with lee dies I know that the bullet ogive is longer and heard about the die damaging the nose of the bullet, I don't want to purchase a new die just for vld since im just going to load test using vld, accubonds, and tsx bullets. Good bullet weight for deer?
i saw a video that a guy shot a deer with something like a 35 or 36 grain 223 bullet hit the heart and died a few yards out...... dont quote me on the grain i cant remember what it was but it was definatly smaller than 55,- colscar
