Just shot another yote with my halo xlr. 18650 batteries were about 40% left and had it on for 4-5 hours. So far no issues with the LRF (I am not using it in scan mode) or the thermal scope. I did change out adm for bobro mount. RTZ on ar15 556 and Q Fix 308 is perfect so far. The other thread...
When I put the Keeppower 18650 (3500mAh) in my Xtar charger one read 20% and 40%. Very impressed with the battery life considering it was high 20s at night and during the day at the range it was in the high 30s.
So another night out with late December 2021 XLR purchase. Also another range session just to confirm zero. Return to zero using bobro mount on both rifles. Temp was 27-35 yesterday. 1 set of 18650 2 bars left. On for about 5 hours I’d say. 15-20 times ranging. No issues. Some were in heavy...
I bought a XRF from Preston and so far so good. I received it around Dec 31 2021. I’ll keep an eye on this thread and post my experience over my next few hunts.
I can see getting a nox. I would always recommend get the best scanner you can possibly afford. I have a pulsar helion xp50 and love it. I spend about 90% of my time looking through the scanner.
I like it. I bought an extra aps battery and can hunt all night. The nice thing about the aps is they are small in your pocket and easy to put in at night. The Thermion automatically switches to the internal battery (assuming it still has power) so the scope doesn’t turn off during the switch...
I wonder if this will be the death of the trail models? Kind of unfortunate IMO. They had a great battery system but weak mounting. I have thermions and enjoy them because I can swap them on different rifles with a good RTZ mount. That was my primary requirement.
