    6.5X284

Re: 6.5X284 Most of the gyes I know of shooting 6.5-284's are shooting them because they want the velocity. None of them are loading down by any stretch of the word. I like the cartridge because I get paid to ream the barrels and they already have all the tools but the lathe which keeps me...

    Suppressors QD vs Thread On

Re: QD vs Thread On I like thread on cans for firearms that I rarely shoot without suppressing. I have a QD can for all of my semi auto rifles however as I can use the one SDN-6 on my M1A my 300blk, 6.5 grendel, 5.56, and my 223 varmint barreled upper. Technically only 2 rifles but I do...

Suppressors It was a long 5.5 months....

Re: It was a long 5.5 months.... Good news is waiting is a lot easier when you aren't even in the country. Think that may be why I have been getting cans lately?

Finally found Her - The Swede 96

Re: Finally found Her - The Swede 96 Don't remember who makes it but there is a rear sight replacement that lets you put in an aperture sight. It just replaces the rear sight and alters nothing permanently.

Fattest Bull Barrel You Have Ever Seen?

Re: Fattest Bull Barrel You Have Ever Seen? Helped chamber a barrel for a heavy class bench gun before going to work that was crazy. 7RUM 36" 2.25 inch. We had to grind the OD down to 2.250 exactly to fit into a barrel block. Have no idea how it shoots but can't imagine it having much recoil.

Suppressors A Question for the Chemists out there !!!!

Re: A Question for the Chemists out there !!!! Plated bullets still leave behind lead residue and buildup. I tried going straight plated bullets for 3k rounds in my 22LR can and it still built up just as bad as always. Working on picking a new can that is easier to clean for these same reasons.

    11.5" good until 150 rds.

Re: 11.5" good until 150 rds. Make sure the pin holes in your extractor didn't deform or break. It almost sounds like your extractor failed. Especially since you say it ran great and then stopped ejecting. Could also be your ejector but I haven't seen those break as easily.

Suppressors It was a long 5.5 months....

Re: It was a long 5.5 months.... ATF just cashed my check for my Elite Iron can. I had them make one of their Sierra SD cans in 30 call instead of 338 so that i can use it on my magnum rifles. Not any were near as heavy as I was expecting from all the comments on the cans weight that I read...

    Southwest ammunition

Re: Southwest ammunition So I called Zach tonight and was able to get through no problem. Awful nice man and he more than offered to make it right by me. Looking forward to some future business as I think it will be easier for me to just order more blackout ammo from him rather than trim...

Gunsmithing AR vs Bolt action barrels

Re: AR vs Bolt action barrels I have been holding onto an old 223 varmint barrel off of a 700SA that I cannibalized for the action a while back. Planned on doing this very thing just to try it out. Glad to hear others have done this successfully. Chad I was wondering if/how you located...

Longest shot you've made with an AR-15

Re: Longest shot you've made with an AR-15 I have shot out to 1150 with issued M4 and tracer ammo. We couldn't hear the impacts so we switched to tracers to see were the rounds were going. Worked great and we could hit a car very consistently as long as the environment didn't change...

    Gunsmithing Barrel break in

Re: Barrel break in My brand new M1A barrel now has about 240-250 rounds through it and I never cleaned it once. Don't intend to either as the groups shrunk from 6-8 inchs at 200yards to 2.5-3 at the same distance after about 80 rounds.

Suppressors What fits my needs for a 22lr can?

Re: What fits my needs for a 22lr can? After poking around I think the only way I would get to 5000 rounds is by going with a larger size as far as volume is concerned. Only one I have seen is that gemtech clone they make and I don't want that big. I do have access to a machine shop and...

    Double tapping (the bad way)

Re: Double tapping (the bad way) If I don't use proper follow through on my M1A it doubles very easily. Can do it on command if I pay attention even and I have thought about doing it one day on a hog up close as the two rounds usually hit within 3 inches when it doubles at the 50 yardline.

What the Mossad can do with a 22LR

Re: What the Mossad can do with a 22LR We had one of those 22lr MP5 knock offs in Afganistan in 2009 that we used for getting rid of pests on the base but we had to cut it up when a douche found out we had it. It was silenced too so lots of fun on hedgehogs dogs funny looking cats and rats...
