Re: Recommend me a drop in Savage barrel in .260 Rem
Agreed on ordering from Jim, some initial load testing from the barrel I just got from him.

Re: New guy looking for cheap 308 build advice
Twinsen you will not be dissapointed with a barrel from Jim. I just got mine after a 12 week wait and couldnt be happier with performance. I did not know anything when I bought my rifle and got the one in an HS Precision stock. If I was doing...
Re: Thoughts/opinions on Cold Steel Ti-Lite
I had a ti-lite for quite some time, just really liked the way it looked. It is very easy to deploy the blade as you pull it out of your pocket. That's about the only input I could give as I know nothing about knife combat.
Re: Savage got a makeover
It's a lot more grippy than a hard plastic AR grip. I can't put my thumb on the other side and get a proper trigger finger though, it's fat.
Re: New 260 Rem Savage barrel help
I just got my criterion .260 for my savage Thursday and took it to the range today. Mine is the bull profile but it is the match barrel at least I'm pretty sure it is. Says .260 Rem Match on the barrel. There's pics of the best 100yrd group and a 200yrd...
Re: Savage got a makeover
Went to the range today and have been pretty happy with the performance. Going to make a couple small adjustments tomorrow and see if they help any. Here is 5 shots at 100 and 200 yards respectively. Not sure if the 1 high shot at 100 is a coldbore or bad trigger...
Re: Savage got a makeover
The bolt body did just drop in but I have heard of them requiring work too.
The base is a 20MOA NF base and I believe they are medium height NF rings. Very little clearance, can't put a scope cap on the front.
Re: Savage got a makeover
That's why I got it, only played with it a little but it does seem to help. For the price on Midway I think it's well worth the money.
My new barrel finally came in from NSS today. Also replaced the bolt body with a PTG bolt body. Hope to hit the range Saturday and see how she shoots. Still trying to decide if I should paint the barrel or leave it as is, just wanted it together so I could go out and shoot.
My phone camera...
Re: Flinching by closing the shooting eye
I have the same problem but with my breathing cycle. I have a tendency to hold my breath when I pull the trigger, just have to slow down and focus on what I am doing wrong and it normally helps quite a bit.
Re: New Savage build
Forgot to mention like catrono said, Jim is great to deal with, very friendly guy who will take the time to talk to you about whatever questions you have.
