Re: New Savage build
Another vote for the criterion barrels, I should get my .260 barrel this friday. I will try and posts some pics after I take it out the first time.
Re: carbon fiber barrel
Christensen Arms makes an AR with a wrapped barrel, not sure if they offer just a barrel though. Have seen one of bolt rifles at a range once and it was pretty impressive.
Re: First try at Duracote
CBM, do you use a cover on your can? I tried using black BBQ paint once and at the end of my trip to the range I took the cover off. My can looked like a chia pet, guess the paint got a little tacky and pulled some fibers off the can cover.
Re: New to reloading, Need help on a .260
H4350 is the most common powder I see people using, but this is also with 140gr range of bullets. That is what I plan on using when I get my new barrel in a couple weeks.
Re: AICS 308 magazines - 5 rounds vs 10 rounds
I don't know about other but I find that my 10rd mag is much harder to feed. I have also read after putting some rounds through them it loosens up. I just don't ever use mine so maybe I just need to run more through it and it will be fine.
Re: Bullet stuck in Barrel
Only other thing I could think is the difference between large rifle and large rifle magnum maybe would push it. I reload .308 and they never left the case.
Re: Bullet stuck in Barrel
As far as what made it happen I don't think it was that there was no powder. Since I started reloading I have forgot to charge 3 shells. None of them ever pushed the bullet out of the brass, just looking at it you couldnt really even tell, I thought it was dud...
Re: Question for current owners - regrets?
Well when I was going to get a can originally it was going to be an SAS if I remember right(it was one of the cheaper cans he had). I knew nothin about cans, was going on what my buddy/dealer told me to get. When I was ready to put the money down...
Re: Question for current owners - regrets?
If you take some time to look around on this forum you can a large amount of info on many different types of cans. Many here like Thunderbeast which is what I have and I can't say enough enough about it, I have heard it next to other cans of the...
I have searched and can't find many review or info on these bolt bodies. I have talked to a few people and decided I wan't to get one and have one question. The spiral fluted ones are out of stock at midway but they do have ones with straight flutes. I know from reading around that people...
Re: Coyote hunting advice
Shooting a .308 right now but should have a .260 barrel in the next month which will be nicer. I like the Jack in the box, nice and compact and the price is not bad. I will try a hand call first probably. Robert, which hand calls do you prefer? I would assume I...
