And get the clamp on slr block. Some beleive that the set screw design can slightly affect accuracy. Even if you don't believe that, why not play it safe:)
Also, if your maten has the Ambi bolt release like mine, you may like the norgon Ambi mag release too. Other than that, a good grip and you have a kickass setup. I like kreiger barrels myself but they are 11 months out on an ar bull barrel. Lilja is good too
My humble opinion on the item in your list that could be "upgraded" would be the bcg. I just think for the bling your going to throw into this build you should go with top of the line bcg. Again my humble opinion is that is the low mass jp rifles bcg. Works perfect with adjustable gas block...
Beleive it or not I use the max 50 rings by badger ordnance. I don't care about the weight of my maten so I thought I would overkill the rings. Solid like a brick shithouse. Ultra high is the size for the ar rail design. I love badger ord
I second this with the slr. A year ago I looked all over for a 936 adjustable lo profile block where the adjustment screw locked in place. I couldn't find any except for Wilson combat. Now everybody is talking about SLR which looks badass!!
Hello folks,
I have an HTR 308 (FBI Tactical model) that I have had for 6 years or so. It is one of the most accurate rifles i have ever shot. Many times i have had 5 round groups within .40 moa at 100 yards. I would post picks if i knew how!!!!
My question revolves around the fact that I...
+1. Was thinking the exact same thing. The adjustable cheekpiece will get in the way of the charging handle. I love the PRS though. There is a 308 specific one. I am also a huge fan of being able to "tune" the gas flow with an adjustable gas block so it is only gassed as much as is needed...
I love JP products but I dont like the way the adjustment screws dont "lock". I know loctite can be used but I dont like it. Last year I searched high and low and could not find anything that "locks" except for Wilson Combat. However, recently I came across SLR which has a couple options...
Thanks for your feedback. That is what my common sense and long held belief has told me. However, i have recently read things like, "even though the bullet has left the barrel, the gases that follow and actually pass the bullet on its way out can actually still affect accuracy. And, if there...
Hello folks,
I am building yet another precision AR 308. Will be using a 26" Bull Krieger barrel (308 Obermeyer) with the Mega Maten MKM Keymod receiver set. Geiselle Match Trigger. JP low mass bolt carrier group. Magpul PRS stock, etc. So, needless to say, the utmost accuracy out to...
Sounds good to me. I would think the hotter you go, the more sealed the brass would be to the chamber wall when it ignites and thus LESS soot. My Rounds with varget seem "sootier" than factory rounds as well. However, Velocity is exactly the same as factory rounds. i cant explain it. i am...
11 months for my 308 bull barrel. That's what Krieger quoted me. However, I do Have another Krieger barrel on another A.R. build and it is worth it!! So, I sit and I wait
I am a big fan of the Remington 700 5r. I have one and my friends have some and all of them are sub three-quarter moa. I am being conservative when i say 3/4 moa as i have shot ragged hole groups with hand loads. Of course these are the 24 inch barrels. But now I see they are making the...
I agree with that. I have a 50 BMG and just ordered 338 lapua and they do not stabilize for a few hundred yards. It doesn't mean they cannot be used for yardage that short. It just means there could be better solutions for that short of yardage. My 50 BMG for example is basically one hole at...
SAC
My opinion is, the AR 50 is the way to go. I see your in Iowa. I am in Grimes/Des Moines myself!! I have shot the Barrett and Armalite prior to me making my decision. I ended up with the Armalite because I was convinced it was "more accurate". It is a beast!! With the Nightforce and...
