    Replacing a barrel on a rem 700

CBI 24-26" Stainless Remage ~$300 (NSS) Barrel Nut - $28 (NSS) Lug - $27 (NSS) Nut Wrench - $18 (NSS) Torque Wrench - Free rental from Auto Parts store, Home Depot, etc Action Wrench - $60 (NSS) - but I made my own vise with wood blocks for my Origin install. Worked great. Go gauge - $30 (NSS)...

    .308Win.Ackley Improved

Just my opinion, but I don't really see much of a downside to an Ackley if you reload. Worst case, your velocity gains are minimal, but you're running lower pressure. Fireforming is simple and, at least for my 223 AI, capable of pretty damn good groups. Don't feel like loading up ammo before you...

    Savage 12 FV question

Yes, any 223 AICS mag will fit, which is only about 4 different makers at the moment (old AI mags, Accurate Mag, MDT, and Magpul I think is releasing one). AICS is just a magazine pattern. If you wanted to change barrels and boltfaces later to something in the 308 family, this bottom metal would...

    Savage 12 FV question

That asks for what mag you want. See where the option for “No Mag” is? That’s what you want, just the AICS bottom metal. It’s also why the price falls by $45.

223 AICS Mag for max COAL?

https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/accurate-223-mag-question.6987588/#post-8318692 This thread has some good info. As I said in it, I was able to dremel out my Accurate mag to about 2.600" or a little shy. Someone below me posted a video on removing material from the back to get 2.630".

    Savage 12 FV question

Make sure your 12 has 4.4" spacing and side bolt release (it should) and throw this in it. Stock might need minor inletting that can be done with a dremel. Then you'll need a 223 polymer MDT or steel Accurate mag. Worked great on the Savage 10 I used to have (in 308 Win)...

Razor Gen 2 4.5-27x56 Scope caps???

My front O-56 does this as well. After looking it over I noticed the base that slides over the bell was slightly convex on the front side where it mates with the cap. I was able to make it work a little better by slightly bending the rims out. Worked well enough for a while, but I think it has...

Savage Repeaters in 6br - Extraction & Ejection

Seems like a pretty easy and cheap fix for one of the most common reasons Savages are shit on.

setting headspace on straight walled prefit?

Yes, that’s why roll crimps are a no go. Taper crimp on the case mount so it still will headspace correctly.

    Bighorn Origin Build Thread

@Zermatt Arms Ray - Just ordered my second Origin the other day. When we spoke about sending the trigger to get timed (TT Special), you said it wasn't worth it anymore due to a change you made somewhat recently. I was wondering if you had more info on that. Figured I would post about it here in...

    straight walled cartridge options?

350 Legend has worked well for me here in Iowa, but using an AR platform though. I would imagine they feed from a 223 MDT poly mag or 223 Accurate Mag just fine. Also have taken a couple deer with a 450 Bushmaster, but not sure how they would work out of an AICS with the rebated rim.

    Magazine options for 223 trainer

While I'm not a fan of the OAL restriction (2.390"), here is another Magpul option. If you don't reload I don't think it will matter to you. I think they are still waiting to be released, but says Summer 2020. I use both Accurate Mag and MDT 223 mags and both work great for my Origin 223AI...

Frankfort Arsenal M-Press Co-Ax single stage press vs. Forster Co-Ax?

I just picked up my M-Press. Having read through this thread and a couple of others on here I knew it was a tossup whether I would end up keeping it or not. Have to say, for $120 shipped I'm pretty damn happy with it. The shell-plate thickness wasn't an issue for me and I found a work around for...
