I’ve got a 16” Grendel with an ALG handguard. This is my deer rifle but I wanted the same 419 rail so I could mount it on my tripod. I ended up going with a RRS 3” rail so I can mount it but still feels good carrying thru the woods. Grabbing that 3” rail confirms that if I went with the full...
I’d try some lighter bullets. My BIL and I got 2 Faxon Group Buy barrels( a run of 50 barrels). His would not shoot 123 at all. Better than yours but not as good as mine. Tried some 90gr TNTs and the groups dropped in half.
Any signs of the gas block hitting the handguard?
I’m real interested...
I would go with a RRS plate and leveling base or ball head. I went with a Pig tripod, an Innorel 44mm ball head, and a RRS Mlok plate so my daughter could handle my AR this year( right at $270 total price). Once we were set up in the blind she only had to worry about aiming and pulling the...
I went with the PIG tripod and an Innorel 44mm ball head. For $220 is seems like a solid setup but it's also the only tripod I've shot off. Added a RRS M-lok plate for my AR. My 10 year old took a 5 pt opening morning on her third shot ever off a tripod. So I'm calling it good enough. After...
Here are some numbers I copied from Vascar2’s post on 65grendel.com
A Friend and I chronographed a 16, 18, 20 and 24 inch barrels on the same day with a magnetto speed chronograph. Look at the difference between the 20 inch and 24 inch 6.5 Grendel barrels. The gain will be much less per inch...
My daughter is like your kids right hand, left eye dominant. I completely agree that going with the dominant eye allows her to get on target quicker than trying to use her right eye. She started with a 10/22 with a cut down stock and s&w 15-22. Now she wants a bolt action 22. Savage looks to be...
Me and my daughter(9 yrs old) are both right handed/left eye dominant. I’ve started her from the get go shooting rifle left handed. Pistols will be right handed. She doesn’t have any issues with brass from her 10/22 or 15-22 ejecting across her face.
Alexander Arms also has a 17 hmr, http://www.alexanderarms.com/products/the-17-hmr
I haven’t shot one but always thought it would make a great varmint rifle.
This is all I’ve found so far
