    Could anyone give me a feel for what the standard SAC 223 would do velocity wise. Running Varget, projectile weights 73/75gr with a 26” barrel. Thanks

    I’m getting a 223 conversion kit from Short Action Customs for my desert tech SRS. I plan to shoot this a lot, as a trainer. Ive never reloaded 223. I will be shooting 70-80gr projectiles.     Advice on rifle and cartridge for ELR out to 2 miles.

    If I had the money to build a purpose built 2 mile cartridge it would be a 416. The 37xc desert tech allows me to not have a special gun, press, another optic etc etc.

    You’ll definitely want their long range chamber for heavier bullets. That’s what I did too. I plan to hand load and shoot factory with 70-80 grain bullets.
