Suppressors Dead Air Mask vs Rugged Oculus

I've found the trick for the short config is to have a subsonic bullet passing through it. With a Ruger Mk pistol and a barrel under 4.5" almost all ammo is subsonic and it's still stupid quiet for me. I agree on a rifle with super sonic ammo, it's not that quiet compared to the long config and...

Just for the sake of the English speakers here, could you try again?

Suppressors Dead Air Mask vs Rugged Oculus

I have both of these and they cleared on the same day about 2 years and change ago, so I've had some time to shoot both a bunch and also to clean both several times. My opinion is that the Oculus is the best rimfire can on the market. That's based on my needs and wants and modes of use. I have...

Suppressors Do you clean your suppressor?

From my experience with Boretech C4, the carbon will settle out in the jar after a day or two and is completely reusable. The way you're using it, not sure how helpful that is in trying to get the carbon out of the jar, but maybe it could be filtered through some coffee filters or something. Or...

American Rifle Company Special 4th of July Offer

I'm not home until later today and then I can measure it. I don't think it was a thickness issue as much as an issue with how short the recoil lug is.

You can take the clamp out easily enough. Then it's super sweet.

First build, new to LR, looking for thoughts on my components

The Magpul Pro is a pretty good stock. If you find a deal on one, I'd say, go for it. They are ambidextrous which is nice. My son is left handed and it was a pain to find a decent stock for a good price for him. I thought it was an added bonus that it would work for me if we needed to swap it...

Yeah, they shoot. No question about that.

    Suppressors Rugged radiant

I don't have a Radiant, or any Rugged centerfire can for that matter. I do however have an Oculus and it is built very similarly with the short and long configurations. I haven't had any problems with it coming loose and I've been very pleased with it's performance and build quality as well as...

    Suppressors Cycling problems with suppressor

I'm reminded of my last trip to the Doctors office. I told the Doc that when I woke up in the morning I had really been feeling poorly. He told me that it was a simple problem and that I should start getting up in the afternoon. So the easy and not helpful solution is just to not use the...

American Rifle Company New Archimedes Action, New Xylo Chassis, and major Mausingfield revision

I've used and still have both a Xylo and a Sentinel. I don't think they are all that similar feel wise. I think that the Xylo is a really nice chassis and the ease of adjustability and other features it has makes it very nice, but it's still an aluminum chassis. It still has a ring to it when...

    Suppressors current rimfire options

Aluminum on the body or tube could probably be mitigated more easily than the baffles or a mono-core, but I'd still look somewhere else. There's just too many options that don't use aluminum for me to pick one does. If we lived in a place where buying a can wasn't so much of a lifetime...

    Suppressors current rimfire options

The Mask is a good choice. If it's not in stock, then I would just avoid anything with aluminum in them. I have a bunch and my personal favorite that I have in possession is the Rugged Oculus. Not sure if that one is available to you or not, but it's been great. It's actually the most...

    Suppressors Bulk subsonic 22lr

I think the Oculus is around an oz heavier than the lightest rimfire can I have. Of course I don't have any aluminum cans. Nor do I want one. I'm not a big fan of cleaning the mono core cans, but some people like them more. When you take it apart and see how much more robust the baffles are...

    Suppressors Bulk subsonic 22lr

I think you'll really like the Oculus. I have a bunch of rimfire suppressors and the Oculus is my favorite. I also agree that the CCI SV isn't made to fit the Vudoo chambers. It shoots fairly well, but it doesn't like to extract after it's been chambered and doesn't like to allow the bolt to...

    Suppressors Bulk subsonic 22lr

Best option I've found is CCI SV by the case. I don't know of anything similar to the bulk boxes sold at Wal-Mart that is subsonic. Unless you have a pistol with a 4.5" barrel or shorter, then it's all subsonic.

Gunsmithing DIY Action bedding on Manners stock

The thickness of the tape is going to be determined by the stock inlet and how thick the tape needs to be to keep everything square. Too much tape and you could be pointing up on the Z axis, too little and it would point down. The other thing the tape does is keep the barrel centered in the...
