    Correct me if I misunderstood... but if you have only tried one bullet / load, I would most certainly try other 77gr bullets and loads. I have one FN CHF 1n7 twist 20" SS, that only likes one specific 77gr load.

    I would at least try the 5.4oz buffer, but as TonytheTiger said, ultimately gas flow reduction will probably be more productive. FWIW, I run SLR Adj. GB's on all my LFAR's. 308 and 6.5CM , I prefer to limit the gas at the port, keeping any excess gas out of the upper.

    Help with firing pin

    Make sure you don't have any pierced primer "disc's" , in the bolts firing pin channel. Even one could "bind" your FP.
