    130 eld-m vs 140 eld-m velocity

OP , 2825 with 139 and your 26” is slow. They can be pushed faster. I’m pushing 140 Hybrids at 2849 in a 23.5” at sea level. I am sticking with the heavies because at distance they still do better. If I were you, I would find a higher node unless you have a Barrel by a company that’s known to be...

John Hancock 6 or 6.5 Creedmoor

6.5 get a weighted chassis and a brake. Mine hardly moves

    The Creedmoor Coolaid

Where did I say can’t be used? I said for proper (optimal) seating depth. Many longer VLD and the 150smk are pushes to far into the 260 case for a SA mag. Unless you single feed them, you are cutting them short of the benefits they offer. For brass, that same 243 and 308 brass can be used for...

    The Creedmoor Coolaid

I would actually say the benefit is bullet selection. The 260 neck does not allow for the longer Bullets to be seated properly (for SA) The 260AI helps but the Creed has a better shoulder/neck for the longer Bullets if you reload. The CM also has better brass selection. If you compare the 140g...

    6.5 Creedmoor

Depends on barrel length. I’m pushing 140 to 2849fps from a 23.5” barrel. Best performance is at the highest nod from a given barrel.

    The Creedmoor Coolaid

If manufacturers would have made the AI version (260AI) the Creedmoor would not be needed. But since no one really took an AI and made the brass until the Creedmoor, it is gaining because no fire forming is needed for the small boost it provides over previous rounds.

    Gap 10 in 6.5 Creedmoor

You should be able to use the typical loads for 140 Hybrids. 41-43g of 4350, I’m at 42.7 but you may need to be more OAL conscious. Biggest thing with a gas gun is you don’t want to be anywhere near max pressure. Popping primers sucks. Although I love the Hybrids, I’m switching to ELD-M because...

    6.5 Creedmoor

I am not happy with my ES at all but damn 42.7 with 140 Hybrids shoots incredibly well. Last PRS match at 872 was easy even with way high ES. May try the RL16. Or just need to work on my load more

PRS Talk Tactical Div .308 or .223

The benefits of learning on a .223 I think are worth it. I keep debating getting a .223 barrel after my 6.5CM goes especially since I can get lots of free 69g GMM

PRS Talk Tactical Div .308 or .223

Just shot with Nico this past weekend. He is shooting 77g and pushing them around 2850-2900 but don’t remember exactly what he told me, was a hard time spotting impacts at 800+

    Impact Precision Actions

Yep, so far of the top ten this season, Curtis and Impact own it.

PRS Talk Whats the popular caliber these days?

Calling ones shots is not the same as calling it and confirming the bullet impact. If your shooting an Unk distance or extended distance with good wind gusts, calling your shot doesn't mean a thing. You may be off by .2 wind and if your optic moves, you will not know it and it will cost you...

    Adjustable gas blocks

Of every three gun match I have ever been to, the only guns that go down hard in the match have an adjustable gas block. I have seen SLR, Syrak, and Superlative all mess up a gun to the point the gun was useless. Typically what happens is the run out of set screw adjustment due to fouling which...

    6.5 Creedmoor

One of my biggest hold outs is that 4350 is working so darn good. The powder is not holding me back any. I try to tell myself that I don't need to continue chasing but always find myself doing that when its time to look for powder. then there goes valuable training time spent on working up new...

    6.5 Creedmoor

Anyone switched from 4350 to RL16-17 and happy they did or think they should have stayed with 4350?

    Bighorn TL3 vs Impact 737R

I had the same dilemma a few months ago and went with Impact and have no regrets. Was advised to look at Fusion and Impact over the Bighorn.

    TI lightweight build

Impact showed a picture on IG of their TI receiver body alone on a scale at .71lb which is 11oz and are working on a finish for it.

Is there any real advantage for super long barrels?

Yep, 6-7’ Long gun pushing some serious powder for a .375 pushing a 400g bullet at 3000fps is nuts.

Is there any real advantage for super long barrels?

Diminishing velocity from barrel length depends on the bore diameter/powder charge/ bullet weight/design/temp/altitude and probably a few other factors. Short stiff barrels generally provide less whip than long but less velocity also.

    Impact Precision Actions

Pretty sure AW works with AICS just not the other way.
