Looking For A Decent 16" 5.56 Barrel
Criterion. $330. My most recent Criterion Core 14.5" started out at 0.80 MOA with an 8X scope at 100 yards. It's at 80 rounds now and is doing 0.50 MOA. And it only weighs 26.2 ounces. Geissele GFR Maritime Reconnaissance 6mm arc write up and review
Recent lots of Hornady 108 ELD-M I've picked up are not as fast nor as accurate as my earlier lots. 92 FPS and 112 FPS slower. SDs remain good, under 15 FPS. The 106 TAP is FAST, with good SDs. Still MOA or better.- MSTN

If you dive into a Proof SS barrel with a borescope, you'll understand the hype. But they only offer one fairly heavy profile. I've never been disappointed in a barrel from Craddock Precision A barrel maker that seems to be getting overlooked in this thread is V Seven. Their work is...- MSTN

Top 14.5” 223 Wylde/5.56 Barrels
The Criterion Core barrel profile is a better choice than the Hybrid, IMO. This 14.5" Core barrel settled down to 0.80 MOA (using a scope, of course) before one box of Federal GMM 73 Bergers went through it:- MSTN
