    TAC OPS / KMW Collaboration

I really gotta do a better job keeping my eye on the ball… I’ll give you a call and you can remind me I’m a dumbass.

    Burris XTR Pro 🇺🇸

I really like the March .075 center dot - I haven't encountered the "it covers too much target issue." I am decidedly NOT in the smaller/finer is better crowd. I also have yet to encounter a use for 10 mrad of wind holds, probably because I don't shoot in hurricanes or tornados. That's about...

Rifle Scopes New Schmidt & Bender PM2 6-36x56

You can search this thread for "patent" and get what you need pretty quickly. You may wish to add Kahles and/or Swarovski as search terms with "patent."

    Tac Ops Rifles

I remember my sense of trepidation when I opened the case. You set your expectations so incredibly high that you wonder if it’s even possible to meet them. I think Mike’s end users learn quickly that their reputation is well earned… and many of them continue to add to that reputation.

Rifle Scopes New Schmidt & Bender PM2 6-36x56

I’m not sure the P5FL/GR2ID are to my taste. I’m still excited about this scope at $3800, but… you guys ever have that problem where you end up with more optics than guns? I’m already there and arguably moving the “wrong” direction. Will be curious to see what @Dogtown thinks of the P5FL.

    PRS oriented stock design

I literally just sent them an e-mail asking for this…

    PRS oriented stock design

Look at the McMillan U10 for an example of a more conventional stock with a shorter trigger reach. You can see that adapted to the Game Warden Long Range as well. Basically sets the rear action screw just in front of the grip. That’s far more reminiscent of the KMW et al than the traditional...

Rifle Scopes New Schmidt & Bender PM2 6-36x56

The thing we ignore as shooters is the difference between arc length and chord length. We use arc length - the curve subtended by a given angle. However, our target dimensions are almost universally linear - the chord length between two points on the circumference. However, the error when using...

    Tac Ops Rifles

What’s the standard here? I wanna know how good I need to be to shoot my way into becoming Mike’s adopted son!

    Tac Ops Rifles

I'm gonna regret this when you guys buy up my source... but never let it be said I didn't help a brother out! https://www.streichers.com/federal-cartridge-308-cal-tru-168gr-sierra-tipped-matchking

    Tac Ops Rifles

It's close enough in terminal performance that I'd wager it is. The TMK is a very effective hunting bullet. However, I'm not gonna section them to check, I'm just going to accept that they're both awesome ;-). As the TRU/T308T is the only stuff I can find loaded with the TMK/TTM, that's what...

bad lot of steel and rumors

Are you guys trying to say that cutting/machining the same material/blank to different specifications, subjecting it to different loading/pressure/heat cycles, different maintenance, and then assessing performance according to different standards changes the effective service life? That's...

Rifle Scopes New Schmidt & Bender PM2 6-36x56

At below $4k... that's, uh, suddenly really difficult to pass on, given the preliminary reviews.

How Heavy is Too Heavy, Rifle Weight

It occurred to me that PRS is the rifle equivalent of USPSA Open Division... there's not a shred of practicality in the equipment (unless you look really hard) for anything but that specific game. I wouldn't carry a PRS gun any more than I would carry a 1911 race gun in .38 Super. That doesn't...

    Tac Ops Rifles

I'm gonna need you to stop posting pictures of that rifle... I have a strict "only one Tac Ops being built at a time" policy, and you're threatening to fuck that up. Pretty inconsiderate of you, actually.

Concur with @kthomas - about 100% sure he just came here to torture us. ;-)

    Tac Ops Rifles

That's a KMW Sentinel. As it happens, Mike is doing a limited run of Tac Ops / KMW rifles right now.

Which factory cartridge for PRS matches out to 800 yards

.308 Win, 6.5 CM, 6 CM, 6 ARC, .223 Rem - any of those can do the job. 6 CM is my favorite of the bunch simply because it seems to be less popular than the 6.5 CM and that made it much easier to find ammo when everyone was panic buying everything they could find. The .308 and .223 are both...

How Heavy is Too Heavy, Rifle Weight

<The M240B has entered the chat> The only thing worse than humping the pig was getting stuck as the AG. I guess jumping the base plate would be worse. I can tell stories about how hard I was as a younger man, but that doesn't change the fact that if I hit the woods of my own accord with 29+...

    Precision 30-06 builds

I'll have you know that after I switched to a CF stock and a CF barrel I saved 4 whole ounces! That's a quarter pound, man! It's a MASSIVE difference. Sadly, that -06 has gone to greener pastures... was a nice rifle, though. @xsn10s - I loaded up 208 ELD-M and 195 TMK... both around 2650...
