    6mm Migraine

I watched someone run a match at The Arena using a CF 6.5 CM stick... wish I could remember the gent's name or that of the match. Not optimal, but certainly doable. Worth keeping in mind: there's a difference between "I will shoot PRS next year" and "I will compete for regional and national...

Custom MC Actions vs Traditional Custom Actions

A big part of this is "horses for courses." Let's say I've got a perfect MC action - can swap to any caliber I want with totally reliability, no issues on accessories, no insane cost - just a perfect, pick what I want to shoot, and bolt it up system. Why would I want a .223/.22-250 bolt gun...

Vortex RazorHD Gen III 6-36x56 vs NF ATACR 7-35x56

Hey, what did the PRS world champ shoot? Now that I’ve stirred a bit, I’ll see myself out…

Rifle Scopes Which Crossover Scope would you choose?

Up front, it was really selfish of me to get excited about an otherwise good discussion turning into Bear Pit material. What can I say? Most entertainment is expensive, and I like a cheap thrill. I apologize for the diversion. There are a couple historical forum discussions (the Mosin bit...

Rifle Scopes Which Crossover Scope would you choose?

YES! It’s happening! Do you, by chance, shoot free standing O2 bottles at over 1000 yds with your Mosin Nagant? Is it too much to hope that you work in concrete? How many bow kills do you have? Hold nothing back, tell us everything!

Vortex RazorHD Gen III 6-36x56 vs NF ATACR 7-35x56

Tell us about the March... that's what the real connoisseurs wish to know ;-).

Why are 300 Norma Factory Ammo Prices so high?

I assumed the whole post by @rustyinbend was tongue in cheek. If she doesn't run factory, she doesn't deserve hand loads. @Bacarrat - doesn't hardly cost nothin' to put it in your safe and talk about it; worryin' about ammo costs is for them that actually shoot. ;-)

    Backfire 1 moa hoax video

This was hashed out on Reddit a while back. I guess I've got a couple observations: 1. 3 shot, 1 MOA guarantees are worthless... always have been, always will be. 2. Did you watch the shooters tossing 5+ MOA groups that weren't even on paper? Technique matters. To the first point - I had a...

Rifle Scopes March FFP 1.5-15x42 MPVO Review and Comparison (w/ Nightforce and Athlon)

"Getting traction" - positive market reception leading to demand for the product and/or further development and investment.

Rifle Scopes March FFP 1.5-15x42 MPVO Review and Comparison (w/ Nightforce and Athlon)

It is worth noting that while the March lags its alpha colleagues, it's not outright bad (in my opinion). We do tend to get caught up in the "only the best is good enough" mindset here. The Tac Ops thread recently had an interesting example of this re: an agency user that paired their Deltas...

Rifle Scopes March FFP 1.5-15x42 MPVO Review and Comparison (w/ Nightforce and Athlon)

The March FX 4.5-28 has best in class flare control, best/huge FoV, good DoF, a couple solid reticle choices, good to great turrets, outstanding image quality (same conversation as TT, ZCO, RG3 if not quite as good), is compact enough to be easily maneuvered... really, it's just an awesome...

Rifle Scopes March FFP 1.5-15x42 MPVO Review and Comparison (w/ Nightforce and Athlon)

The March F 3-24x52 is arguably a very, very nice 3-18x optic with a great reticle in the TR1H... it just happens to say 24x on the mag ring ;-). At 25 ounces you have March, Sightron, Vortex, and Leupold... not sure I can think of anyone else giving you a FFP scope with mil/mil in that weight...

Rifle Scopes March FFP 1.5-15x42 MPVO Review and Comparison (w/ Nightforce and Athlon)

If March really started crushing the 8x ratio that brought them to prominence for a lot of shooters, they'd still be well ahead of where conventional design is right now with 5x and 6x erectors. I feel like their FX 5-40 / 5-42 line was targeted on just that and it could be something to really...

Rifle Scopes March FFP 1.5-15x42 MPVO Review and Comparison (w/ Nightforce and Athlon)

I love March and that they push the boundaries on things... but, you have to choose your compromises. I'd venture that the March F 3-24x52 is a better performer optically - so how much do you need that 1.5x on the bottom? Yes, the 1.5-15 is super compact and one ounce lighter and comes with...

    Steiner T6xi

    What a waste... fucking MOA.

Rifle Scopes Which Crossover Scope would you choose?

I think perhaps THE distinguishing characteristic is weight - it's putting the feature set of a modern FFP, mil/mil, tactical/target scope into a hunk of glass that doesn't suck more than necessary to carry for the sake of those features. It's also coupled with an understanding that field use...

    Tac Ops Rifles

Appreciate the insight from the professional end users. Solid info. “Regular guy” here - fully onboard with the Delta’s superiority.

Rifle Scopes Which Crossover Scope would you choose?

I sort of voted my wallet and my past purchases versus my wishes to some extent... 3-15, 4-20, 4.5-22. More zoom range is nice, but I'm not sold on its necessity (particularly when value / cost is considered). To the rankings... GO/NOGO: - Under 30 oz - At least 3.8" of eye relief - locking...

    300 RUM build

The original design for a 2.850" case with a 3.6" COAL is simply Fuddtastic... a great way to see just how fast you can shoot that 150 grain Core-Lokt or 130 grain Barnes TSX. It followed the Weatherby model with a looooong free bore to burn more powder without unsafe peak pressure. Sort of...

    SBR large game hunting

This strikes me as half baked… forgive me for generalizing and possibly lumping you in where you don’t belong. Every time I see some dude that has to have a SBR or a 6 lb gun or whatever to go hunting I just roll my eyes… like a whole class of people that need hunting to be easier as their main...
