    Vintage Sniper Rifle Picture Thread

I bought 2 more today LOL... We'll see if it holds across different rifles. I read ZG's post and thought to myself, "You know, he's right..." :ROFLMAO:

    Vintage Sniper Rifle Picture Thread

I've wanted one of these for years finally pulled the trigger. CG-63 on a 1900 Oberndorf action. 12 @ 100yd. Threw some H4350 behind 123 bthps to sight it in. I think load dev is done lol.

    22arc versus 6 arc

Between 2000 and 2100 you'll start getting probabilities of expansion depending on yaw at target. All of the VT's are pretty much in the same boat there. ELD-X and ELD-M will both open very reliably at 1700-1800fps, sometimes a little slower depending on twist, caliber, etc. Impact velocity...

A well faked K98 Sniper rifle?

The surface finish/texture on that safety looks like modern hot-rolled steel (rectangular bar stock).

    22arc versus 6 arc

Off the top of my head around 2000fps. 6mm ARC is going to have a longer barrel life between the two. Depends very much on use-case but we've got guys that have shot 6mm ARC as high as 7-8k rounds and are still happy with accuracy. I've shot 6mm ARC match barrels to 4500-5000 a few times now...

    Swiss K31 Sniper Build

Also, see if accumounts is still making swept back ZF4 mounts for K98s. Not sure the dovetail profile but I'm sure some adaptation of that could work, too.

    Swiss K31 Sniper Build

Call me crazy but I think a unertl would look cool and work well on that one.

Show us your PRS Rig build!

It's a Foundation Sampson. It's not a NV bridge, just a handguard really. I've since removed it just for ease of taking the rifle apart. American Rifle Co. Nucleus 2.0 6mm ARC Proof Research Competition contour, 26" 1:7.5 twist. Hawkins M5 DBM NF ATACR F1 4-20x50 Area 419 Hellfire Match

Suppressors Best way to clean heavily fouled TBAC can ?

What I've been doing is soak them when I get home from work until I wake up the next day, hot water rinse, bake @250 to completely dry it out, beat the piss out of it with a wooden dowel, then toss it in the CLR again when I leave for work. Twice a day same cycle for a week or so seems to get...

Hornady 160 grain CX 7 PRC

RL-26 is your friend if you can find it. Very impressive external ballistics for being a monolithic, typical monolithic terminal performance (awesome). Don't shoot into herds (should be common sense but not everyone thinks about it), you'll kill 2-3 animals if they line up right.

    My brother used 27gr ,AA1680 for 223 55gr fmj 😳

I would say that I'd just test it, but it's really hard on the transducers going over 80,000psi. Not going to risk it on this one. I'd guess well in excess of 100,000psi if you've got peanut butter brass. Glad no one got seriously hurt.

    Post your wood/laminated stocks

Got another in the works on a Husqvarna small ring commercial action. Might start inletting over Christmas or something. Not in a rush on it though. 22" 7x57 #3B bartlein in 4140cm so I'll get some rust bluing action in, too.

    A mystery Mauser

Kar98A, with 1920 stamp meant it was kept in service post WWI. It'd be very hard to tell when the optic was added unfortunately but may have been something for the SS or police? I'll look through my Law book but I don't recall seeing any 98A's referenced in there.
