Yeah, I'm using 77gr Lapua Scenars which are very long to begin with, then I'm loading them .004 off the lands. My barrel has the longer throat option but still shoots the shorter light bullets well too. Gotta love SACs work!

Not sure of the max, but I'm loading out to 2.865 with no problem.

I have 6 conversion kits for my DTA. The SAC 223 is definitely my favorite. In my humble opinion, it's a "must have" if you own a DTA.

I didn't chronograph that load, but Quickload (which I have found to usually be pretty accurate) has it at 3279 fps from a 26" barrel. Also, please note that this is an above listed maximum load. It shows no pressure signs in my rifle, but that might not be the case in yours, so approach with...

Here's a couple more SAC 223 conversion groups. The green dots were Black Hills 77gr Match factory ammo and the orange dot is a handload; 60gr Sierra Varminter, 25.4 gr H-335.

How accurate is accurate? FACTORY AMMO

These two were done with Black Hills 77gr Match (blue box) with my SRS A1, SAC 223 conversion:

    Should I go 260 Rem?

I have two 260s as well as two 6.5 Creedmoor. I bought the 260s years ago before the Creedmoor became popular. I love the 260 but there isn't anything it can do that the Creedmoor can't. Not really any need to have both, but I very rarely sell off my guns.

    Superformance Powder

I tried it in my 6.5 Creed AR10. Velocity was very impressive. Accuracy was so, so. Not bad, but not as good as H4350 or VVN550.

Range Report Can't believe this happened... Whats the best group you've ever shot?

I've had many .1 groups over the years with several different rifles. A few 4 shot groups in the .0s, but still haven't managed a 5 shot .0 group. This was my best so far: .116" done with a Ruger RPR (Hawk Hill barrel) chambered in 6mm Dasher.

So I got a borescope and WTF is this in my barrel?

Some of my most accurate rifles had bores that looked terrible through a bore scope. If it shoots well, don't worry about it.

I i have a 22" factory 308 barrel and it shoots all the weights that you mentioned very well. The factory barrels will shoot just as well as most customs.

Planning to start reloading 6.5CM soon, which bullet do I choose?

140 gr eldm has worked very well for me. The Berger 140s are excellent as well. It cost quite a bit more. I've also had very good results with Lapua 139s. Don't sweat the hornady brass. I've been using it for some time now and find it works just fine.

Hope they had good insurance. If they did, they might be back and better than ever.

25 grains of VVN-140, with either a 77gr Lapua Scenar or a 77gr Sierra MK has worked extremely well for me. For a factory load, try Black Hills 77 grain Match (blue box). For inexpensive plinking or varmint hunting, I've found 60 gr Sierra Varminters to be very accurate with 25.4 grains of H-335.

    Kinetic Research Group SOTIC?

Nice shooting! I tried that exact same load a few days ago and also got very good accuracy. However, velocity was a bit disappointing; 2670 fps from a 22" barrel. That's about 90 fps slower than my normal "go to" load of 42.2 grains of H4350. I was thinking of bumping it up another 1/2 grain...

    Premium ammo vs barrel

If your skills are high level, then yes, a match grade barrel would most likely make a significant difference. I have a DTA with a SAC 223 conversion (Bartlein barrel) that will shoot factory match grade ammo in the .1s ( measured center to center). Not every group, obviously, but with pretty...

    ASR muzzle brake on 22LR

My experience has been that muzzle brakes usually improve accuracy, even on rifles that have very little recoil, such as 223 Rem. However, it will almost certainly change your POI when compared to shooting with no brake. Not a big deal, but you do have to be conscience of it if switching back...

    Kinetic Research Group SOTIC?

Nice shooting! I'd say you have a winner there. I haven't had much luck with Rl-16, but maybe I will give it another try. So far, H-4350 has been my go to.

    Best 284 brass?

I use Norma 284 brass and it works just fine. Just load and shoot. Am I the only one using it?

More than one rifle in same caliber?

I have two 223s, two 260s, two 6.5 Creedmoors, two 284s and two 308s. As others have already stated, they have different purposes.
