    Large Frame AR Purchase Recommendations

I also have a JP LRP-07 in 6.5 Creedmoor and my experience has been exactly as described by flyright. It shoots buttery smooth with virtually no recoil. It has been dead nutz reliable with both Factory and hand loaded ammo with bullet weights from 120 to 140 grains and velocities from the 2500s...

Who Still Loads on a Single Stage Press?

Co-ax for me. Been doing it the same way for 30 years. No point in shooting precision rifles if your not using precision ammo.

Trying f class removing muzzle brake question

If the load your using now is working well for you, removing the brake shouldn't make a difference except on the POI. That will be a bit higher than with the brake on. A quick re-zero is all that should be required.

    Compass Lake Engineering AR 10

Anyone have any first hand experience with the CLE AR 10? I was wondering how they compare to some of the top manufacturers like JP, GAP, Seekins, etc. I know CPE has a great reputation and their pricing seems pretty reasonable.

    25 Creedmoor

What are you using for brass, necked up 6 Creed or necked down 6.5?

Proof Stainless Steel Barrels (Not CF!)

I have both a Shillen Select and a Proof SS. The Proof easily outshoots the Shillen. I also have a couple Bartliens and a Krieger. The Proof is every bit as good.

    Kinetic Research Group SOTIC?

Any more feedback from early adopters on the SOTIC? I am considering buying one but there is very little end user feedback so far.

    AR accuracy expectations

For me, the primary differences in how I shoot an AR compared to a bolt gun are how I hold the rifle and trigger technique. With a bolt gun, you generally want to hold the rifle gently. With an AR, a firm hold is best. Pull the rifle into your shoulder with your support hand. As for trigger...

Why do people seem down on Savage rifles?

I have a Model 12 F-class. I've had to pull out of two matches because the trigger locked up. It's set up as a switch barrel; 6BR and 284 Win. It ejects the 284 rounds just fine but won't eject 6BR. Not really a big deal since it's a single shot anyway. The action is rough and bolt lift is...

Ruger Precision Rifle 6mm Br Norma Lapua brass

I have an RPR in 6 Dasher. Feeds and ejects fine using AICS single stack mag with a Primal Rights adapter kit. PVA also makes an adapter kit that works well. Tha Dasher does have a slightly longer body then the standard BR, but I think it would still work.

What are you getting for MOA?

1/2 to 3/4 with factory ammo. 1/2 to less than 1/2 with handloads. Best 5 shot groups are 1/4 moa. That's with a JP LRP07.

    Stainless steel media

This. I use a media separator and have never had a pin stuck in a case, even with 223. The process only takes a couple of minutes.

    Odd "flyers" on first round?

Damn fine shooting! Especially with an AR. What rifle are you shooting?

Why is AXMC always the answer to multi cal?

While AXMC is definitely a fantastic platform, it isn't "always the answer to multi cal" as you assert in your subject line. DTA is a hugely popular and capable platform as well that can swap out barrels in under a minute. There's a reason why the DTA thread in the sticky section is by far the...

    Small primer brass with AR10?

It would be for my JP LRP07, 6.5 Creedmoor. I tried out some Superformance a while back and the load I tried turned out to be pretty hot. Stretched out the primer pockets on some Hornady brass. Got amazing velocity with with it, but the accuracy was just so, so. I don't use my JP for comps so...

    Small primer brass with AR10?

Have you tried using a brass catcher?

    Small primer brass with AR10?

Has anyone used small primer brass in their large frame ARs? If so, any issues? Seems like that might extend brass life a little since primer pockets are generally the first thing to go, at least for me.

    JP LRP-07 and VVN-550

Yes, although I also have some Nosler brass tat usually is a bit more consistent than Hornady. I'll have to try that next time. It's also worth noting that the Hornady Brass I used was on its 5th loading a little beat up. Might get even better results from some fresh brass.

    JP LRP-07 and VVN-550

Broke out my LRP-07 in 6.5 Creedmoor for the first time this season. Been wanting to try some loads with VVN-550 and finally got around to loading some up. Wish I had done this sooner. This powder works great in my rifle. I loaded mostly 123 SMKs, but also loaded 5 rounds with 130 ELDs and...
