    Homemade Induction Annealer

That's interesting, mine is all mounted up in a steel box and the board is mounted to an aluminium bracket and seems to work fine at this point. I'm going to mount the rails inside the box and well below the coil so I don't think it'll be a problem but I could well be wrong. I might just sit...

    Homemade Induction Annealer

I bought a little linear rail kit the other day with thoughts of using it and a little DC motor to adjust the height. It's probably a lot more than what's required but ought to be pretty cool when it's set up. It was just under $50 delivered. With a scale of some sort and pointer it will be very...

    Homemade Induction Annealer

I got the case feeder printed up and dummied it together to see if it drops the cases properly. All seems good to this point testing with 223, 6BR, Creedmoor and SAUM cases. I'll get the servo motor mounted up this weekend and it looks like I'll be able to run it from the Arduino board so it...

    Homemade Induction Annealer

The grey part swaps out for different sized cases. I borrowed that design from the same bloke who makes the control board. It's worth a look at his website, he has a full parts list for the annealer as well as the control board and how to wire it all up. https://www.mgnz-makes.com/

    Homemade Induction Annealer

Yep, the timing is adjustable in 0.1 second increments. The bottom button adjusts it, it starts at 2 seconds and each press increases it by 0.1, a long hold resets it back to 2 seconds. I'm just printing off the case feeder, it's got a small servo motor running it. Initially it'll use a...

    Homemade Induction Annealer

I started on an induction annealer last week. I made an automatic gas fired one about 5 years ago which has done the job brilliantly but these seem like a much more accurate way to do it, plus it's an interesting project to make. I started with an MGNZ Arduino control board which is really well...

    Gun related 3d printer files

Here's a set of powder funnels I designed for 223/6mm/6.5mm and 308 with a stand to hold 4. You can download the files from Thingiverse here

    Gun related 3d printer files

I just put the file on thingiverse for a mag loader I designed. It works with 223-magnum short action cartridges in AICS type mags. I use them for AICS, MDT, Accurate mag etc mags. It works with mags with 6BR type kits in them as well. The hole for a string loop is pretty handy and makes it...

    DIY Brass Marker

I think this bloke has won the brass marking game. 😄

Underwhelmed by my Redding Type-S FL Sizing Die and Bushing Performance

The diameter of the neck on the fired brass makes a difference. I was having similar issues with a 6.5 creedmoor and the redding bushing neck die. The case neck was .294" after firing and I was running a .288" bush. The necks were spot on concentric after firing, the same after running through...

    Autotrickler V3 - CE Products?

I just bought the trickler and set up a cheap lee dropper on top. I printed a mount/funnel and knob for it and it's plenty quick enough.

    Tikka T3 Thread

Thanks! I've sold plenty in the past, it's a matter now of fitting them in with work and other projects, the mill has been pretty idle the past couple of years. Maybe this year is time to dust off the cobwebs. The AT skins work much better without the bolt handle cutout and not wrapping together...

    Tikka T3 Thread

It just uses the AT skins, I machined up the chassis to suit the Tikka. It's got a Sterk swept handle now so it looks very AI ;)

    Tikka T3 Thread

They're definitely not as common as a RH one. I built a 6BR on one a while back and it's such a nice action to use without having to fix anything, you can understand why they're popular. The 300 PRC is a stretching it a little but it's only a toy, I reckon it would be an interesting project.

Gunsmithing What anti-seize are you all running?

I spent 25 years putting together engines and ARP Ultra Torque is the pick of any of the thread lubes in my opinion. You can buy it on e-bay but any decent engine shop would have sleeves of it lying around everywhere, ARP supply it with every set of bolts/Studs they sell. It does a great job on...

    Tikka T3 Thread

You could most likely do a little milling to fit 300 PRC in, the photo below is a factory 225 ELD-M. With a notch in the feed ramp, a bit of a trim at the rear of the port and a skim off the front of the trigger you'd get pretty close to feeding it from a CIP mag. You would most likely have to...

    AUTO TRICKLER V3 COMBO ?

You shouldn't need to connect the ribbon cable to anything, just push it back inside the scale and replace the plate you remove with the plastic piece with the circuit boards on it. The cable that hangs out of the new part plugs into the serial port above it. You plug the trickler into port 1...

    Tikka T3 Thread

Thanks for the extra info. I have a machine shop so it's not an issue around getting the work done by someone else. Being in Australia and left handed kind of limits the availability of actions to easily build on. I make my own stocks so I can fit the magazine wherever it needs to be, just...

    Tikka T3 Thread

Nice work! That looks very tidy on the notching of the feed ramp. Do you have any more photos of the area in front of the trigger? I've been thinking about putting together a 300 PRC and If these mods give enough room for close to a 3.7" OAL it's looking like a Tikka will be the go.

    Neck turning

It's a Lee case trimmer chuck. I use it to push the cases onto the mandrel and back it off before turning. When they are done I wind it in, lock it onto the case and pull them off. The chuck is pretty light duty but there's not a lot of tension between the case neck and mandrel so it works fine.
