Night Vision EOTECH CLIP ON THERMALS ( Full details)

I think that's only partially true, there are a few options but they all share the same design (AAD or copy of it). I have a bunch of AAD myself and like them. But mine is a very different design that, well, I like a lot more. :) I certainly hope to offer it for uncommon optics, but until I can...

Night Vision EOTECH CLIP ON THERMALS ( Full details)

Thanks for your interest. I've procrastinated for a long time turning my PVS-30 design into a parametric one that I can easily offer in other sizes, I've also been focusing on investing on milling/turning equipment so the actual printing is still done by someone else. But picking up the project...

    For the pistol comp guys..

Speaking of optics ready shadow 2, I was prototyping an RMR plate in steel/titanium for it since the availability of factory one seems to be hit or miss, and not a fan of 3rd party plates made of aluminum given the small thread engagement length.

    Ops-core amp nfmi user question

One of mine became like that after a few month, RMA'ed and replaced by OpsCore. Now I keep an extra set of plugs as back up. (Do try swapping the plugs between ears and make sure the non-functioning one also change side so you know the issue is in the receiver not the transmitter).

Gunsmithing Question about Cerakote over AL Anodize

Per Cerakote, it needs blasting but can be done at a lower PSI that doesn't completely remove the anodize layer. This video @ 4 min explains it.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Slide Milling, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Here is how I plan to do it, and some of the design considerations. 1. I do not leave screw posts, this allow me to keep the screw size #6-32. The left side is drilled & tapped deeper, while the right is shallower to not interfere with the extractor plunger. I do drill thru into the plunger...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Slide Milling, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Exhibit C - Another approach you often see is to actually have posts for the screws. At a glance it has some benefits, such as providing additional locating of the red dot, longer screw engagement length, etc.. However, the two round posts have some issues in my opinion. They cannot be...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Slide Milling, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Exhibit B - Another one that I see quite common is the absent of locating post. Most of the material removal when milling the slide is done with 3/8" or 1/4" end mill, but the distance between the post and the front wall is about 1/16", which means another smaller end mill must be used to...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Slide Milling, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

I will start by saying that I am not a "real" machinist by trade. My full time job is a product manager in a software company, but I've always enjoyed making physical stuff when I'm done creating digital things at work. Got a Tormach CNC mill a few years back, made things like Picatinny rail...

Night Vision PVS-30 Objective Cap Thoughts / Opinions (used a vortex defender)

I've always wanted to design some geared thingy for the focus ring that translate either linear (e.g. a slider) or rotational (e.g. a level) movement into the rotational movement to move the ring, it will take some time and probably not cost effective LOL.

Night Vision PVS-30 Objective Cap Thoughts / Opinions (used a vortex defender)

I will need to make a few different ones to figure out the tolerance before offering truly custom size. But if there are enough requests for a specific model I can also prioritize working on that.

Night Vision PVS-30 Objective Cap Thoughts / Opinions (used a vortex defender)

Here is the final version - I moved the "ears" on the cap higher to reduce tension mid stroke, and added finger tabs at 5/7 o'clock position for you to easily grab onto.
