New press announcement from Area 419

With the ram all the way up and a shellholder installed, screw the die into the turret until it contacts the shellholder. Lower the ram, thread the die in another 1/4 turn, run the ram up to apply some pressure to the bottom of the die, lock the ring down. The upward pressure from the...

New press announcement from Area 419

One day I took a pile of dies and lock rings to a lathe, busted out some indicators, and was shocked by the amount of variance between the faces of the die ring and the chamber of the die. The runouts would also change meaningfully when rings were loosened/tightened/moved/etc. On a Class 2A/2B...

New press announcement from Area 419

The locking function of rings is typically where their inconsistencies come from. The grub screw pushing on threads, the split in the rings - those fight against the ring being true to the threads (and therefore, in theory, the chamber of the die). I'd rather the die be set up true than the...

New press announcement from Area 419

Shooting a bunch of product videos next week, this is one of them. We won't push on this product until we have a lot more on the shelf, for obvious reasons, but we will have that content available soon.

New press announcement from Area 419

Lots of spare turrets have been shipping this week. If you haven't seen a notification, shoot an email with your name/order number to [email protected] and nudge the CS team. Also, the March/April round is about 85% sold, so if you want one of those, I bet there's about a week left before those...

New press announcement from Area 419

Our restock emails are commonly sorted into spam, but they definitely went out. Figured we would give the people that actively follow us a few days to get an order in, then next week push out an email to finish off this production round.

I love this - it's like my wife buying a new piece of decor or furniture and deciding to go ahead and repaint a room so it goes together - only way more awesome. You should take some before/after photos. The ZERO out here making reloading benches better places around the world.

New press announcement from Area 419

There were a flurry of guys in here that wanted them, so we figured we'd run a handful and play with them, see what happened. We may hate them and never make a large run, but may like them. Only one way to find out.

New press announcement from Area 419

The part to blank off a die spot is being made, just a matter of production timelines and getting things back in stock. Lots of capacity being added right now, but it wont turn into a flow of new parts for a solid 2 months.

New press announcement from Area 419

Lots of presses have shipped, more are shipping today, more tomorrow. We have tried to be geographically strategic to get as many to doorsteps by Christmas as possible. We never, ever wanted any of these to arrive after Christmas, but unfortunately it looks like some may miss. We hate it more...

New press announcement from Area 419

All ZEROs, parts, and accessories are shipping as fast as we can get them in boxes and labeled! That said, educational bit, apart from dust covers on the first round, no press has or will ever ship "with" another item. We package the presses in custom boxes, and in on-size cartons. Additional...

New press announcement from Area 419

What we found out is it's got a lot to do with the actual lot of A2. All studs grow a lot when we heat treat, which is why we machine to an oversize, then heat treat, and finally turn to the exact size we want. Tough process turning something at a 65-68 Rockwell, but it's the right thing to do...

Yeah, I tried to get Scheels to dump the zip ties, they say they are required to keep them tied for liability reasons.

I really do. It's a hell of a blessing to be able to wake up in the morning and love what we do and know that when we ship product, that box with our tape or label with our logo will make a guy smile even before he cuts open the box.

New press announcement from Area 419

Nope, because we haven't shipped any. They will leave with the batch of presses we are assembling now. Hopefully next week, but with the way Black Friday went (it was a really big few days) and the PRS Finale eating up a lot of man hours, it may be the week after.

We are going to wait to post these until they are back from Nitride. With things crazy as they are, we aren't making any moves to get ahead of ourselves. I'd expect them soon, and in time to have them under your christmas tree. Just make sure your wife doesn't open them with the Amazon packages ;)

Set your decapper up just like a sizing die. Ram to the top, screw in the die until contact, lower the ram, thread in the die another 1/8-1/4 turn, tighten the lock ring. A few other guys have had the same issue, this has solved it for each of them.
