    PRS Dry Fire Prep

Dry fire training is some of the best practice you can do, especially for PRS because it's so dynamic. Practicing extensively with live rounds will only increase your tendency to anticipate. For newer shooters, I'd say that positions is the #1 thing to work on. After that it would be...

    PRS Talk Tripod usage

The need for a tripod has definitely been minimal, but I am starting to see more use of them in matches. I hope there becomes more tripod usage in the future, but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't. I've been to several matches in which there was not one opportunity to break out the tripod lol.

What does it mean to "free recoil" a rifle?

Let's not get into the whole F-Class free recoil vs. PRS free recoil debate lol.

What does it mean to "free recoil" a rifle?

Here's a recent article describing free recoil shooting: https://accurateordnance.com/category/articles/ As far as spotting your misses goes, this is when it pays to have a heavy 6mm rifle. It looks like you already have this so there shouldn't be a whole lot of recoil. As long as your...

    Bullet Buying Tips

I ordered 700 bullets from Brownells once. They came in three different lots! That was my first and last time buying there lol.

Moving Targets - Dry Firing in Workshop or Rimfire, HELP!

Most moving targets are typically set between 2 and 3 MPH. I find that the most common reasons for shooters missing moving targets is anticipation and focusing on the target. The shot needs to brake when you want it to - instantly. This causes many people to rush and be more aggressive on the...

    Desmond Tripods?

Desmond tripods are great for the money! To me there was a noticeable amount of stability difference between this and the RRS, but I think it comes pretty close considering the amount you pay for it. It's definitely a step above the old Manfrotto / HOG saddle combo.

Sierra 175 tipped match kings load data

We've had a few people recently try them out. Both had an optimal charge weight of 44.7 grains of Varget. They are jumping .020" and shoot exceptionally well.

PRS Talk Bags bags bags help please.

Definitely can't go wrong with the Gamechanger. It's my go-to bag that I've learned how to use in most scenarios. I carry a large fat bag as well, but I'm beginning to use it less and less.

    Couple of noob questions.

ALWAYS use 100 yard zero. Further out zeros are really only necessary for larger calibers shooting extreme distances.

    .308 Win load development questions

I would do this, but load up about 3 of each charge instead of only 1. This will get you a more accurate reading of the velocity node. The result of this test will dictate what charge weight to go with. The only other three things to test (unless you want to get super picky with hand loading)...

    what caliber for new rifle

Sticking with the .308 or going with a 6.5 Creedmoor or 260 Rem would all be good options. The problem with the 6mm calibers is that your barrel becomes very much of a consumable. You probably don't want to go through a barrel in 1,000 rounds. All three of the aforementioned calibers have...
