.277 Fury 16.5” shorty bolt report

This is true, I was having difficulty sizing completely (hence trying the small base) but that was fixed by annealing after an initial forming. It also fixed the neck tension issues when turning. The 7/16 tap is a very close fit there. I ordered an oddball M9x1.25 tap and screws instead, as I...

    Keeping Suppressors Cool

I use a similar little pump, but I'd definitely recommend using silicone tubing. Much higher temp resistance (~200 vs 450+ F). Melted plastic in the chamber is a bad day. Bonus is that the pump can act as a battery pack for the LabRadar.

    New Sig Spear in 6.8mm

Back more on topic, as 45-90 said, you can essentially remanufacture hybrid 6.8x51 ammo for pretty cheap if you're so inclined. Certainly makes more sense than paying those insane prices, if you're set on the Fury. Primed cases are $0.50 each shipped here...

    New 6mm Advanced Rifle Cartridge

lol Two deer must have winded my buddy on the other side of the property and sprinted basically directly at me. I wasn't really desperate for a deer (just finished processing my elk) but if they insisted... Just to try different things out, I'll likely hunt with 106 TAP or a monolithic this year.

    New 6mm Advanced Rifle Cartridge

The 103 in 6 ARC worked fine on whitetail this past season for me. Complete pass through, no recovered bullet, close range though, like 20 yds.

    New 6mm Advanced Rifle Cartridge

This should help https://www.sgtofarms.com/product-page/soa-belt-buster-die As would getting a sizing die that's a little bigger, early Hornady dies were pretty small, I forget which ones SOA says are best but they have a video somewhere on it.

6GT or Dasher Brass from 22-250?

You might have better luck starting with a 308 or 260 Rem die to push the shoulders back, the more shallow angle makes that easier. Then follow up with your 6 GT or Dasher die. And annealing to start and probably in between, likely followed by neck turning is what I'd try if you really have to...

    284 Winchester

I tried the usual powders recommended for 284 and 168 ABLRs, H4831SC and RL23. They ran slower than I hoped or weren't very accurate, so I ended up with H4350. I'm getting 2850 fps out of a 24" barrel and great accuracy, and have taken three elk with it.

Getting into reloading- Buy the best press I can afford, or start more slowly?

I'd agree that if time is a high priority, reloading will likely conflict. I'd think about if reloading for all those cartridges is really needed. If you're only looking for increased accuracy, you likely won't see that with 9mm, and perhaps not .223 or 6.5 CM depending on your usage and what...

Question on resizing with SAC die

Hey. I'm not sure what's going on, if it's not lengths I'd look at widths/diameters (neck, shoulders). But on the 0.004" bump for new brass (if that ends up being needed), if you're concerned you could anneal *after* the first sizing and that ought to be addressed. Further resizing can just be...

.277 Fury 16.5” shorty bolt report

Sorry to continue the thread drift, but in case it helps anyone I want to follow up: annealing my cases after forming fixed the issues I was having. Pretty sure the work hardening after forming to 6.5 CM was preventing the last ~0.005" of shoulder set back. After one pass each of 308 and 6.5 CM...

.277 Fury 16.5” shorty bolt report

I can handle being called a moron, especially when paired with good advice. I am new to wildcats, unless you count fireforming 6 BRA, which shouldn't count. Not new to reloading at all. I'll try the Lee lube and 308 die, thanks.
