AMP really worth the extra $$$$$$

I wasn’t really lacking in accuracy prior to getting the amp, but I didn’t notice any specific accuracy improvement after But like I said in my earlier post, that’s not why I got one

    Hornady on tuners.

buddy of mine is a machinist and we made the joke years ago when tuners first started taking off that he should make shroud that just mimics external threads on the barrel near the muzzle. Then make varied weight stacks where the user could just add weights 1 at a time until it shot the...

Bix’n Andy issue in Zermatt TL3

Yea, any touching/binding can cause stuff to hang up, there’s not a whole lot of room for error with moving trigger/sear parts The bolt is likely not the issue but it’s something to check My money would be on something on the trigger housing kissing the bottom metal

Bix’n Andy issue in Zermatt TL3

Sounds like There is contact somewhere if it’s working outside of the stock Check all around the bottom metal trigger cut for rub marks and the bolt handle recess on the stock, it might not be a huge amount of contact either

Do you use expanding mandrels after a full-length bushing die for neck sizing?

related to this...i have 2 steps in my process that address the mouth/neck post tumble also. i want the inside finish left a certain way, as consistently as possible, right before it sees the bullet...its possible i could swap those steps for a mandrel run and see the same results, but i never...

AMP really worth the extra $$$$$$

Im another vote in the get the AMP if you wont miss the extra money camp I had the giraud before it and best i could tell it did the job but the ease of use and no hassle/no doubt consistency of the AMP without having to fiddle w/ flames/nozzles/timing during setup for various case sizes is...

    PVA - Missing In Action?

i understood what you meant OP... maybe instead of "...i need that order" you could have worded it differently for the smooth brain mafia on here... once they misunderstand something and trigger, there is no winning them back lol maybe "this transaction has already been handled, but id...

Do you use expanding mandrels after a full-length bushing die for neck sizing?

i dont have pulling vs pushing, but best i got... years ago i loaded 50 rounds each with... redding bushing die w/ the expander ball in redding bushing die w/ expander ball removed, then pushing mandrel thru it (conventional fashion) cheap ass standard lee die lapua brass/berger 140 bt...

Do you use expanding mandrels after a full-length bushing die for neck sizing?

Same…noticing the higher seating forces on what should have been very little interference is what lead to me pay more attention to the inside surface in the first place, accidental find

Do you use expanding mandrels after a full-length bushing die for neck sizing?

When I tested neck prep/tensions years ago to find where I wanted to settle my process, the actual size of the neck mattered FAR less than inside neck surface finish On my hydro press, leaving the neck in a less than ideal state it would yield 90-100+ PSI even with only .001-.002 thou of...

Barrel Tuners and Bryan Litz’s vol. 3

question on the first 2:30...that relates to my position on tuners and my experience using them...asking before i watch the rest so i dont forget...i may have already seen this video as i've watched quite a bit of Neary's stuff, always interesting/good info... he states groups getting smaller...

    What causes this? (Neck "Lip")

Interesting…I didn’t think it would happen with standard FL dies, but I got almost zero experience with them. I started with bushing and stayed there since day 1. Learn something new everyday tho.

    What causes this? (Neck "Lip")

are you using bushing dies? outside of the tumbling issues already mentioned, if youre using bushing dies and stepping down in too large a jump for your brass softness/hardness level to handle, it will make the mouth flare

Positive compensation and its explanations .

What i find interesting is, to me, it sounds like most of Camel's points about how much weight is required for a profile of barrel and where/how far off the muzzle it is placed dont really jive at all with many of the current/more popular tuner designs out today (ATS/EC type)...ive also not...

PRS Talk Will an AI AT-X make me a better shooter?

Idk if I’m qualified or not based on Death’s standards, but I may be one of the few people who have won 2 day PRS/NRL matches with an AIAT and a custom (Impact) I also put each in the top 10 the majority of the time…it didn’t matter which rifle I showed up with, neither held me back. My score...

    True velocity inside 1200yds?

if youre going to shoot a hornady bullet you can get the hornady 4dof app for free and true with the actual drag model for that bullet and compare to whatever youre running now for ABs CDM i think they recommend truing them around that mach # you mentioned...not sure of the details because ive...

    Lesson-Learned: Primer Storage and Humidity

i think the test was good...i just think the conclusion/lesson learned might have triggered most of the push back "isn't good enough to keep them dry and reliable for years. I needed a sealed container and desiccant packs to guarantee a "bang" instead of a "click" 5-10 years down the road."...
