I'll Post This Here - Hornady's Podcast #50. I thought it was one of their best, but some reloaders might not like what they see....

i had multiple people test this years ago...along with myself with multiple guns...all of the guys i worked with were also well above average shooters, all capable of/had won multiple club level matches/top 25 placing at 2 day matches any given event basically went like like the following if...

Advanced Marksmanship Lying to Ourselves About What Makes a Difference.

the fastest way a shooter can progress is knowing when to look at the system and when to look at themselves...that "flyer" isnt always the shooter...that drifting group, maybe not be either...that zero shift, could easily be the rifle... some people only blame the equipment and progress slowly...

    PRS

Yea, I’ve said that before also, missing should hurt…we thought about tryin it in local matches, but figured self squad ROs would make keeping up with the scores a mess and decided against it

    PRS

I suggested up a real KYL years ago…since a bunch of 60% shooters wanted to pop off about “know your limits” “make every shot count” “it’s a gamble” lol Every trigger you pull is a gamble when you barely hit half of what you shoot at lol You miss, you zero the match and go home No one seemed...

    EC tuner brake

Prolly same as beating people’s dicks into the dirt with no load development, and then listen to them tell you about how amazing their load and tuner is lol yeah, I listen to them too

Reasonable rifle accuracy goal to be competitive in local/regional PRS matches

bench/prone completely stable...id prefer ~1/2 moa...just because its not that difficult to do with a good rifle and ammo...not "my best groups 1/2 moa"...but like u said, consistently 1/2 moa, over and over im completely fine with taking 5/8-3/4 moa to a match and id still have a chance to...

    EC tuner brake

(embarrassing) question about Redding bushing dies - .004" discrepancy. Annealing?

bushing size could be wrong, but you also have to consider brass size/rigidity prior to sizing if youre wanting to hit a specific size example i remember is my 223 die at home... if i fire a 223 round, the neck comes out like .260 (cant remember this number exactly, but its quite a bit larger...

    EC tuner brake

only addition id be curious of is once the tuner setting is found...repeat the 30 shot process a couple times apart, in variable weather/time of day if possible couple years ago a guy (not a bad shooter at all, far better than most) had for sure found his load one day...sent me pics with 3 - 10...

    EC tuner brake

I Haven’t directly compared them, purposely… But mine feel similar to any other top end brake recoil wise…similar to APA, piercision, area419, etc…basically with any of them on the end I don’t notice a big difference

    EC tuner brake

To be fair, winning matches isn’t a real barometer for anything other than a lot of stuff can be made to work…most people’s heads would explode with what I’ve shown up with lol I could stick a tuner in my ass crack and go win a match…might take a few stages to get comfortable I’d imagine...

we need a crying orkan meme

ive seen similar a few times also seen a bunch of barrels that seem to shoot every charge in the same spot over 3-5 grain spans...none of my rifles i shoot for accuracy are factory rifles though i have seen a factory rem700 sps varmint 308win rifle that would stack 3-5 rounds, then as we kept...

    Chassis right or left

same as OP also... go lefty...i already was too deep into right handed rifles to switch all of them...but im far more comfortable shooting a lefty rifle doesnt take long to learn the motor skills i went straight to lefty when i bought a bow and other than resell options being worse, i havent...

we need a crying orkan meme

i dont think this was ever anyones rub...it was the guys slinging bullets from a harris and squeeze sock affirming to everyone that .003 primer depths shot better than .004 lol originally it was "have to test depths, its crucial for accuracy"....now its just "its really nice to use"

we need a crying orkan meme

one of the really well known tuners was originally sold as "have to do all your normal load work up, then can use the tuner to make small adjustments if you see variations day to day...basically to bring your group back to best potential of the load with shifting conditions..." then it was...

we need a crying orkan meme

This has always been a question i pose to guys who tell me theyre certain and finding their loads in tactical/hunting rifles down to benchrest sized groups... i havent meet a single one yet shooting over flags or worrying about the wind...

we need a crying orkan meme

In reference to that group, in person, Erik also says it was luck...but then people start using it around the internet as proof for whatever they are trying to support ...i havent watched the video...so not sure how he refers to it there, but typically things on youtube are done certain ways...

Looking for info on "Silent Night" match, or other night events

Silent Night uses single landscape type lights on each target...so if youre in your scope and not on target, all you see is dark I enjoyed shooting it quite a bit because it was different...dark and all suppressed...it was slightly more effort tho because you couldnt see things around you well...
