    can be lots of things if all the variables arent controlled... powder/primer/bullet/brass lot to lot variance bore condition...they will typically gain speed the more and more carbon fouling they get new barrels will also speed up in the first 0-200 rounds depending on how aggressively it is...

    Anyone switch from RRS TA-3 Leveling Base to Anvil 30?

    i went from leveling head to anvil a few years ago...compared them side by side for deflection and what not when i had both iirc the anvil seemed to be about 90-95% of the leveling base stability wise...set a rifle up on both, locked in on a POA, pulled different directions with a force gauge...

    can you replicate the shift at 100 yds? shoot it at 100, not getting it hot...bang the barrel fairly hard up/down/left/right...the POI shouldnt ever move...if it does, theres a rifle problem...if it doesnt, get it hot like you would on a stage and look for the same shift

    after cleaning the first shot will generally always be 25-50 fps slow...every barrel ive ever had does it as far POI...depends on the barrel...my newer barrels stack shots outta the gate...get 1000+ rounds on them, may take decent number of rounds to get them back to normal

    know anyone else with a verified, reliable impact build? you could screw the barrel on their setup just to try and isolate barrel vs rest of the system i know on my multiple impacts i can swap the barrels around on them and they shoot similar regardless of the action its on i saw a different...

    used post 2 method a lot...find mils/sec and figure with flight time you can also do it in a kestrel...there is a target speed calculator where you input distance to target and how many mils youre going to time it for...say 400 yds and 10 mils...you watch thru a reticle, hit start, and hit stop...

    Another thing I forgot is we never paint targets fresh...it can give an advantage to a squad based on the type of stage or difficulty depending on where they start...something with progressively smaller targets it’s a huge advantage to see your fresh splashes if you’re one of the first shooters...
